cant believe people doubted mike vick

Thing is, he doesn't have to carry the load like he did against Minnesota. I feel like that was a little bit of flexing the muscles to show people what shiney new toys we have. Joique Bell can fullfill a similar role so bush will get his breaks. And we still have Leshoure just chillin at 3rd string. RB is kind of a team strength at this point imo.

I think the whole Chip Kelly thing is awesome for the game. Just look at how much excitement and talk has been generated around it, and for one sparkling rarity in the football world, this much buzz is actually deserved. It's also great that Vick finally gets the system he's always deserved. And though there might be initial pains with all the stupid stupid stupid injury faking, it might be a longterm good because it'll almost definitely get so ridiculous that the league will make change the rules. (They could probably change it to if you get an injury timeout, you either have to take a timeout or go out for the rest of the drive. Most legitimate injury timeouts bench players for the whole drive anyway, since, you know, they're actually hurt and require medical attention and stuff).

Anyway, I wouldn't go TOO crazy about the Eagles. The Redskins offense had 14 plays in the first 5 drives; that's WORSE than a 3 and out against the worst defense of our generation, and the Eagles average starting field position was something like the 40 (and they were gift-wrapped 2 of their points). The Kelly system will give teams fits for sure, but that was exaggerated Monday by the fact that the Redskins D basically got commercial breaks and not much else to get a breather for the entire 1st half. I think it'll more often be the exact other way around; the Eagles D won't be able to stay off the field, then when the offense finaly gets it back, Vick will have one of his drives where he runs for 2 on first, throws the ball 2 feet behind his receiver on 2nd down and throws it at his receiver's feet on 3rd down, and back on the field goes the D after a 0:18 of rest.

But again, I think it's awesome and exciting (and I hate the Eagles, btw).

MMMMM high round draft pick in the era of rookie salary suppression.

Tomlin is a genius. In a decade, 2013 will be regarded as his masterpiece year.

That's not a bad strategy. It wouldn't work for most other coaches who would get fired before the payoff, but you guys aren't due for a new HC for another 15 years or so, right?

The AFC North is just out maneuvering the league right now. I've got to wonder if anyone else is even trying.

Our new coach in Jacksonville says 'Jay-gwars' which is pretty funny. Maybe one day we'll win a game.

Sounds like a spoonerism of some sing songy race of sand people in a Star Wars movie.
  53. #53
I guess I'm saying that the "Dink Dink" people from Spaceballs should be exclusively referred to from now on as the Gay Jwars. The Jolly Gay Jwars might take some of the homophobic stink off of it.
  54. #54
There should be an FTR poll on which is more hilarious: the Steelers or the Giants.

I have to go Giants. They're not just 0-4, they're bafflingly bad. There were like 2 minutes of the Cowboys/Giants game where they had a chance to win, and they threw a pick 6; ever since then, it hasn't even been close to close to close to close. Pant

Then again, they have 3 road games and the Broncos out of the way and play in a bad division so they have best chance of making it less hilarious by the end of the season.

Losing 31-7 to the Chiefs, and it's closer to their 3rd ugliest game than it is their most ugliest game.

Okay, that's a confusing way to word it, but their games have looked like 4 run outs of Vandy vs Florida.

Okay, that's not much less confusing. They have looked sosososososo bad.
