My only goal is to work more than my pitiful avg of 15 hrs a week or whatever it was in 2012.

I also need to gain 5 lbs, so I guess my other goal is to eat?

I've always hated the idea of resolutions for the New year. I believe that if you want to change something or do something badly enough - you'll do it when you want to badly enough.

This hasn't worked for me. So I made resolutions.

Agreed, I didn't make any resolutions. I waited a few days and decided what I wanted from this year and wrote it done. Won't do all of it for various reasons but at least it's something to aim for right

    1) Get my mental health completely in-check.

    2) Attempt getting enrolled in college, to get a start on being a LPC [which takes 6 years total, btw, always hated the school/social atmosphere]

    3) Get back to doing an on-going passion I've had in my life. Art. [Currently working on a rather large sketch of a naked fairy-bitch on a mushroom, gonna' be adding a cat, being all "watdafux is dis?!1?", oh, then I'mma go over it in oil paint, atm it's a charcoal outline/sketch thingy.]

    4) Get my next tattoo, oh, and the next tattoo I have planned.

    5) Get ridiculously tiny again [Well, not ridiculously, just, you know, less than 113lbs, which is my current weight, weeee! Btw, much better than my weight this time last year.]

    6) Not be as hard on myself. [This could probably go under the mental-health shit, but, whatever.]
I will destroy you with sunshine and kittens.

Quit beginning of December and kept it up til I went on holiday over New Year. Didn't smoke first day, then smoked a full pack of Malboro Red longs (lol) on the second day and pretty much lost my voice haha. Had another pack or two over the next 3 days then haven't smoked since, I guess it's since the 4th or so.

Was expecting to smoke on holiday anyway, cigs are so fucking cheap and everyone smokes all the time (in pubs, restaurants, bars, houses) and I was drunk most the week.

    Keep it up man

I haven't been brave enough to drink yet, too much association

Drinking the first time after I quit (bout two weeks after) was way easier than I was expecting, but I think that was just because none of my friends smoke and we weren't near any shops.

Test will be going out when you can easily get cigs

    Good luck.

I was never a heavy smoker (took me 3 days to finish a pack) but it still took a good couple weeks to feel "ok". At this point it's just your brain playing tricks on you. You might wake up to a dream where somebody offers you a drag and you are like OMG CANNOT RESIST GIMME... AHHHH fuck yeah. why did I even quit in the first place...

I read somewhere that there's a medical explanation for that dream too, something about your lungs expunging whatever remnants of cig smoke there are in there and your nose actually picking up these subtle smells in your sleep, causing you to dream about it.

goals: get married (already engaged, so this just involves not letting the relationship fall to pieces before the summer), get an well paying job in an awesome orchestra, enjoy life even more than i did in 2012.

I've quit several times before and forgotten all about the smoking dreams. You've pretty much guaranteed I'll get one tonight, thanks.

Well now you know there's a medical explanation for it, so you know it's a normal phenomenon that we all go through. Together we can do it.

Poker goals: win at least 10K
If things were to magically revert to January 1st, 2003, only I could take everything I know now in terms of poker ability/knowledge, bonus clearing, etc., I think it's safe to say that it would be trivially easy to make over a million dollars.

I'm gonna post my business goals because you will all laugh at my personal goals.

2013 Goals and Plan to Accomplish Goals
    • Average 2000 monthly visitors per month by February 2013
    • Monthly visit to lead ratio of 2% by April 2013 (40 leads per month)
    • Monthly lead to customer ratio of 5% by June 2013 (two new customers per month out of the 40 leads)
    • 1000 Twitter followers
    • 500 Facebook fans
    • Launch Stirring Standard by October 2013
    • Hire one employee
    • Build a customer base of 50 clients by year’s end
    • $100,000 in revenue by year’s end
    • Conduct a One Year Blogging Case Study – This is where I will blog every day for one year, starting January 1, 2013. I will commit to blogging best practices, and through this experiment I want to show what great blogging can do for you if you keep at it and do it regularly. The tagline for the blog will be “saving the world, one day at a time.”

    2013 Goals Plan
    • Create my case studies – In 2013, a couple of clients will make one year, so I’m going to do a case study of those clients at the one year mark and chronicle what I did for them and what the results are. These case studies are meant to be lead generation offers to show what Stirring Media has done for others. Here are the case studies I plan to do:
    o Amnesty – February
    o Nitrofleet99 – April
    o Allied Offices – June
    o TelAssistant – August
    • Do the Business Blogging Classes that I Planned – I have a venue finally, so now I need to set up a date and time (or a few, if the first class is a huge success). With this, I hope to build a stronger St. Louis base and perhaps generate leads this way by meeting people in person and showing them business blogging in a manner that’s familiar to more people.
    • Get My News Guru Blog Going – This is the second Stirring Media business blog that’s up and running, but it doesn’t get a whole lot of attention. It needs more attention.
    • Continue Current Blogging Effort on The Chief Editorial Officer – Keep that up by publishing three times per week. It’s been working well so far.
    • Improve Email Follow Ups to Offers – These emails are meant to move prospects through the buying cycle and to further qualify them as a lead. This way, they don’t download something from us and never hear from us again. Instead, each offer will come with a series of emails that keep them in touch with us and introduce them to additional offers. We have this implemented to an extent, but we can do better by adding more follow up emails and adding these emails to more offers.
    • Improving Current Web Pages – Our web pages our good, but they can be better. They can have more and/or better calls to action on them. The content can be improved as well.
    • Utilize Contractors Better and More Often – I’m going to need contractors to do more client work and to do some of our own marketing. This will mean that I need to choose them carefully and communicate what I need from them really well. Contractors will still be used even if an employee is hired.

I don't really, other than climbing mountains (Tom Cruise in MI2 opening) and then standing close to the ledge, or going skydiving, or swim in open waters, or hang gliding, or going in caves, etc.

The first one of the year

Second one of the year - was actually a Valentine's day gift to boyfrand.

Not signed off on this one - so, not finished.

Sometimes I paint how I feel.

The most recent one I started - it's pretty big. 12 by 36 inches.

Thank you. The cat is suppose to just be appearing out of thin air, which is why it's colors are all wonky. The fairy is being playful, obviously.

Depending on if I'm in a painting mood - anywhere between a week and a month. I work with oil paint, and it takes a bit of time for it to dry, especially if you want texture, and I do. I've sat and painted 5+ hours at once, I get completely sucked into it when I actually sit and allow myself to focus on the art alone. That's when I do my best, when I'm not rushing. It's kind of like a form of therapy/meditation for me.

    I'm single.
I sold my house for a lot more than I thought I could.
I plan to move to Vancouver in 6 weeks.

Got a new job and a new apartment but I too am looking to maybe move to the Vancouver Island by the end of October as well. If I do it's because I won't be single.

Bankroll sucks (Sub $100) from playing above my roll and not playing/studying which is stupid considering I can play on Stars and have a ton of free time and no money. I've played 42000 hands this year, I used to do that in a month

We could be besties! It's funny because we already live really close to each other...

Damn all you east coast people moving over here and causing housing to be so damn expensive.

Nah, my place will already be rented. I'm not coming as a single.

Drew, I might look you up on my drive through.

    4. Life is beautiful. This one probably warrants a barrage of posts in and of its own, but I plan to do that in the bar. i'm gearing up for a grand reopening
    5. Still wrkingon this as well, but so far it seems i have either failed miserably or truly realized who were important to me.
    6. This was by far the hardest one, so I had to tone it down from daily to weekly. Wonderful.

Swim farther away from shore than you've ever dared; climb a mountain and stare in the distance over its steep side; mountain biking and going as fast as you can in trails, etc. In Spain I'd go for the bullrun, in Greece I'd wander close to an active volcano

guess i'm more badass than you 'cause i was in the crater itself, hovering over boiling sulfuric pits

i actually swam pretty far from shore this summer. it's much nicer when there are no waves. waves just make it exhausting and unnecessarily frightening.

those are good ideas though... wish i had a mountain nearby to climb up. next time i go to mt. olympus i'm definitely climbing it, no question.

reaching across the tub to retrieve rubber ducky doesn't constitute "swam far from shore"
