Point being that stax could've profited or perhaps more valuably gotten himself a near-guilt-free day off, but instead helped boog out, thus helping me out. I know I'm rambling, but I'm just happy with the support.
Yeah, I agree. I'm pretty happy with the way last night turned out since I would've have just sat on my fatass all night and probably wouldn't have the energy I do this morning, etc. I've posted a bit of a rundown here. The tl;dr of it is that Stacks basically got me to run and made my Thursday night a lot better. Effectively, he also made today a lot better since I don't feel as lazy.

    WOOT for the prop bet.

I should be running a little later today after eating (and then letting it digest a bit). WOOT.

Neh, I figured there was no sense in my updating daily. However, can we all get on Stacks? He's looking to NOT run tonight!

He didn't run tonight. Money for today has been shipped. Rest of the week went fine, but come today I just really felt down, and I'm not up to it. Poker tables, as well as some other family stuff, and I was a bit depressed most of the day. Just really don't feel like getting up and thinking about everything for another 30 mins. So gonna crash pretty soon.

I'm looking to make up for it in week 3 though.

    Gay.

Anywho, week three means 35 minutes. Kiwi should be at 35 minutes today if he's going running today. Kthx.

Read through this thread. On a nutrition note, it seems you guys generally have the right idea but you might want to exercise a little more portion control. Eating the right food and the right amount is important. Research your caloric needs and know how much you actually need; it's a lot less than you think. When in doubt, go by this rule, eat until you're not hungry...not until you're full.

A book I'm going to read soon is "In Defense of Food", you guys might want to check that out as well.

Oh, make sure to be drinking a ton of water with the protein shakes. Throw in some fresh or frozen fruit for added bonus.

THIS GOT THROWN IN TEH GARBAGE YESTERDAY THANKS TO YOU!

Took today off. Also won't be jogging tomorrow, but will be going to an hour-long fitness class at my karate club- hopefully everyone's okay with that counting as a day's cardio? I've already cleared it with boog, but should grab confirmation from you too, Stax. I should say that I plan on going to three karate classes a week, but am only proposing to count this one (which is specifically a fitness class) as one of my cardio days.

Yesterday's run was really good. It was a nice enough day and I got motivated before the sun went down, so I was able to do my favourite jog, which is through some bush and up about 90 metres (~300 feet) to the city's water supply. Normally I make it up there without a break, but need to walk for thirty or forty metres once I get to the very top (it's fairly steep for the last little push before you make it up there) before continuing running around the water and back down. However yesterday just as I got to the top, I caught the eye of one of two girls sitting on a bench taking photos up there, who out of the blue locked on direct eye contact and said, "keep going, you can do it". So didn't really have much of a choice, and continued onwards to complete the whole run without a pause. Feels good

Lol.. She was either trying to motivate you, or she was so repulsed by you she felt it necessary to have you run away as fast as possible. Either way, good job!

And yeah the fitness class ldo counts.

I completed week 3. I feel like I'm losing motivation. Not really towards the exercise, as that isn't bad, but for the dieting. It's pretty pointless for me to exercise, and then continue to eat like shit. And well I'm going to keep exercising, so I need to get this diet back on track. I really just need to suck it up, and cook whenever I'm hungry, instead of getting fed up with cooking after a few days and just eating something easy.
  24. #99
If you're gonna be lazy, eat something that's not AS bad for you as like a double whopper or whatever. Go to subway and get a 6" whatever sub, or a 12" that's got the healthy shit on it. (I have no idea what that would entail, since I've never looked/ordered one lol) Much better then going through the drive thru at the very least.

I order footlong veggie subs from subway a lot and I usually just eat half for lunch and then the other for dinner. Pretty easy and pretty healthy. Something that may interest you is a site called myfitnesspal.com. It's all free and you just sign up and can search basically every single food out there and then it also does a lot of cool stuff automatically like calculating your calorie intake and shit.

Figured you were losing steam with your weak updates. Dude, you have everything at your fingertips but you're choosing not to practice. I wish there was something I can do to motivate you but there's not.

You're kind of refusing to try cooking out and making it seem harder than it is. It really isn't that hard. I can make a decent meal in < 30 minutes. Do some research. Buy basic ingredients. Easy.

Just had an awesome karate session, feel really tired, and am cooking up some chicken and rice, to be had with curry sauce. omnomnomnom! No veggies, but it's gotta be better than the fried sausages or nachoes that I'd otherwise be eating, right?
  28. #103
So up till now the wednesday night fitness class has been taken by a brown-belt, and been good, we work a sweat up, and go home. Turns out the fifth dan who took it when I was there two years ago is now a sixth dan and was just away somewhere, and so tonight he was taking the fitness class again. Holy shit so good, I'd forgotten what that much sweat tastes like, I can't describe it but it's like intoxicating or whatever, and I know it'll get worked up even more as the year progresses. I wish they had a class like this every night, seriously.
  29. #104
Stop trying to cook at every meal. Think Tupperware. Start cooking like 6-8 chicken breasts at time. Cook a whole bag of broccoli or cauliflower. Pack a bunch of meals. don't just cook one at a time. Get a good meal replacement powder and use it for times when cooking is a chore or for breakfasts when cooking is not an option for the times your commuting.

Hard boiled eggs, cans of tuna and cottage cheese are three of the healthiest and easiest foods in the world to have ready. Cheese strings and beef jerky are fucking awesome so long as you look at the labels and stick to the low fat, low carb options. Start thinking of eating as fuel for 90% of your meals and remember what I told you about refeeds (cheats) They are necessary physically and really help mentally. I have dropped to 800-900 calls a day this week after 1100 all last week (PSMF if you want to google) and I haven't quit. Surely you can make due on 2500 or more.

I'm going to miss my cardio for tonight. I'm typing on my phone right now. Massive flooding and tornado warning out for my county right now. I'm chilling in the den with the family. Although we didn't make a weather clause I have a feeling this counts.

Luls.. It has been storming all day.. 5 people in Tennessee are confirmed dead. There is flooding throughout the state, and has been raining practically all day today and yesterday. I'll pay if they want, but there is no way I can go out jogging. And I'm at my mom's new place, so don't have the bike here.

why don't you have a 'burpees in lieu of other cardio' clause.

So when I was like 17 or however old the last time I was doing karate I could do more than sixty good, deep, reasonable speed pressups on my front two knuckles. Now I struggle to do four.

I'm sure I could google around, but everyone has conflicting advice and I trust people on this forum, what's the best way to build up the number of pressups I can do again? Back then I'd do x per day, like just at 5pm everyday do x and then that was me done for the day. Is that how I should be doing it, or should I be doing some kinda reps dealio? All I'm shooting for here is very pragmatically increased pressup ability, so I can keep up at karate.

if you can only do 4 at the moment i'd spend a few days just doing them loads. Like, ten times a day do max reps. This is totally unscientific advice, but i bet it will work. Based on absolutely nothing.
  54. #129
Nah, daven has it right, just do as many as you can as often as you can throughout the day for like a week. I guarantee you'll be at 10-20 by the end of the week. Then obviously just keep going with what you've built up.

Also, wtf is a press up? Is it a push up or a pullup or wat.

I'm thinking it's a pushup. But foreigners never cease to surprise me.

Either way... I owe you guys for a missed day =(. Basically I took Monday/Tuesday off just because I wasn't up to it, this being finals week and all. Wednesday I did my cardio on the bike. But I missed Thursday. After my final exam, I went and helped my mom move some more stuff into her house, then planned to do my cardio later at night. However, then I made plans to hangout with some friends, so never got around to doing it. Not using it as an excuse, just wanted to explain it. I'll ship next time I get on PS (this weekend I assume).
