    Default Still Ballin'

Time for a restart, to the noobs imma ex 200nl reg who withdrew everything. got engaged and started playting more basketball in spare time.

Started at 25nl late last week with $250 BR, moved up to 50nl with a $400 BR,tonight im back at 50nl with a $545 BR. Im pretty comfortable I can play with so few BIs since ill move down and games are still soft. I will say 50nl players seem to off improved which makes me more profit, what i mean is they are no longer boring nits. they are throwing alot of money away by being over- aggro.

Anyway Im gonna blog abit and get back into the game. wish me luck.

Yer, Its pretty annoying. You can see if you actually open up the table. Usually I just get on the overall waiting list and accept tables that are reasonable. PM me ya SN so I can stay away from ya

good2cu back man. I'm 100k hands at 50nl this year if you wanna shoot me some HH's. I'm playing 28/24 9% so my play style probably better matches yours than it did in the old days

    and best of luck!

Yea 6max man, Im not 100% since im spreading my play across laptop and desktop (lets face it I dont need big stats on 50nl players) but id guess im like 24/21 (Im think im still out of practice for opening ranges). I 3bet alot tho.

100k is alot man since uve been out of the game for so long. Ill pm you my msn address to go over HHs, some interesting hands so far. 50nl has become more aggro than I ever remember but it almost makes it easier since nits/regulars spew a ton more.

Still havent played much poker lately, Ive alwasy tended to stay away from the tables when I feel abit tired. I could usually fit in a sesh late after bball training but my mind wouldnt be in it.

Other news on the poker front is im gonna withdraw some savings I have in the bank and put it online, itll shoot me into 100nl games but ill ease myself in by mixing 100nl and 50nl games.

When i get some hands in ill start posting in SH forum and here.

Dont be afraid to hit me up in my evenings if im on and we do some rails. Ive some money ive been saving and can get better use at poker. I wonder just how much 100nl has improved in what must be a full year out of the 200nl game. I imagine people have improved plus legalised poker in usa makes me wanna get in earlier.

Msn me up, sup with u being home all day?

I think 100nl is a lot tougher than it was a year ago. The greatest change being increased variance due to more 200nl/400nl regs grinding these games.

This is pretty anecdotal evidence, but this year at 50nl over 150k hands I have a 3.5BB winrate. At 100nl over 45k hands i have an almost -2BB winrate. Granted for a portion of that 100nl sample I was definitely spewing badly preflop, I'd still say the games are at least a full step up from 50nl. The key differences are the ones you'd expect; that there are fewer fish and greater preflop/postflop aggression.

i plan to grind 50nl for just a wee bit anyway. a year in poker is indeed a long time.

From the little I have played in the last 4 months, it seems that the bad regs are the new fish. With so many more people with skills dropping down, the bad regs are doing too much that they don't understand, like bluff barreling 3 streets IP or 3 betting a ton but doing it OOP vs a wide range and calling a ton when they think they should be bluff catching. There is a huge difference in the regs at all the stakes now. they are not all winners by any means

Ok well max deposited $600 on FT, won $45 over 340 hands. won bits and pieces here and there, played well and played simple. no hands of notice though.

lol spot on CBAT, StillBallin should be my username on all sites now too

Didnt have a great day yday, down $155 I think in about 1k hands. Ran bad, I dont think I played bad at all. Got the cards in the hole but couldnt work a flop or opponent. Sessions like this happen so Im not gonna put much weight on it but disappointed in the loss.

Playing some SC2, Im so bad its not funny. Anyway, prob play some poker today after work.

-$100 at 50nl, not a good day. played well overall, got kk in vs aa. gg!

Another session where i cudnt hit a flop for even the tiniest peice. i did stay in control and not tilt to some 3betting vs me. i was being 3bet a fair amount but from different ppl on diff tables. good session for tilt control.

hmmm minus another 100$. so im back to my original deposit amount of 600$ after being up at 960$ in 3days.

quick thoughts are that 50nl is a hell of alot more aggro preflop than one year ago. now i beleive ive ran bad the last 3 days too and am happy with my play. ive had no tilt problems which is cool. ive found players more aggro in general and dont have spots/cards to play back plus its the table in general being aggreo than say one or two people causing me problems. surprised players have become better at 50nl which was a walk b4 lol.
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.
  30. #30
I'm not sure more aggro means better. I think most don't know much other than they should be raising more and look for guys that are opening a ton IP to steal. I have stopped stealing with a bunch of junk hands of late and found that having my button stat at around 50/38 much better. I am also 4 betting more and calling less nowadays, very polarized obv. Most of the 3betting I have found is either OOP vs high steal att OTB or any Ax OTB.
  31. #31
probably, Ive just been getting very few cards lately. I should probably adjust my opening range slightly. Mini vent above.

August ended fairly sucky, up only $30 at 50nl over a few k hands. Got some irrelevant RB too.

Went up 350$ fast then went downhill, but whatever yawn. small sample, got beat getting allin. Still shaking of some rust.

Ill stay at 50nl for sept, if Ive a winning month ill shoot at 100nl. Last nights 50nl sessions was not as aggro and more like last years play.
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.
  34. #34
+$89 in 500 hands at 50nl. 50nl is starting to return to the norm as it was last year, just got some nasty nasty aggro heads last week i guess.

Was down 55$ at one stage after my QQ vs KK, got overflushed allin on another. So was running bad until a 80/40 player sat who 3bet 40%. He lasted 95 hands and lost $512 while i was there, one other opp ended with 350$ lol. Fish was playing a 200nl table to but ive not got the roll online to take a shot.

Credit card deposits are just sucking, keeps failing and my bank is qeuring security concerns. Jesus just let me ball y'all.
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.
  35. #35
Forced myself to play today, Ive just not been getting any hands in. Been drinking last 2 days in a row and am dying.

Glad I did play, +345 for the day over 858 hands. Took a shot at 100nl early and won +160 there. I played a mix of 50nl and 100nl while 4-8 tabling, i usually jusrt 4 tables with additional tables just being table selection tables where I drop tables.

Feeling better about my game, 50nl and 100nl really hasnt changed much. Ill shoot at 100nl again for my next session. Hopefully Ill be a regular there within a week.

Gonna try a mini goal of reaching 10k hands for the month.

So 1473/10000 done so far, if i make it ill go for more hands next month.
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.

I'm not working now, so hit me up during the week. Maybe I can help with the hands played part. Hell, I've played 12K hands this month already.
  37. #37
Will do man, i suck at getting hands in. 12k already is crazy, but i dont multitable as much as i cud

    Hows ur results?

Not great, but Will Hill switched to the new software, so I have been playing a ton of tables and trying to get used to the new format. Finally found a few scripts that were working to make things easier.

Got a DC sub about 1.5 months ago now, just after I started back. I had been with them 2 times before but I wanna add that im super super disappointed with their videos. Most stuff seems to be just so low on content its ridiculous. Top guys there are Baluga and Gman, together they amassed just about 10-12 videos in 2010 so far. With Baluga doing a mentor of a small stakes brutal player. Krantz i find is a poor commentator, Whitelime is even worse, WOT is good, JK3A is good but theres just to much crap. They try to be too fancy with videos, why not just one vid one instructor instead of having mindless banter on each vid as filler. argh, rant over. shud of signed at cardrunners
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.

Gman is class, great spot came up in his video.

HU Hero opens AKo, BB calls.

    Flop 228fd

    Flop goes chk, hero bet

    Turn comes an A

Opp chks, Hero bets 2/3rd pot

Gman mentioned we should realise that when we chk back alot of Ax hands on the flop we should be careful about barrelling on Ax turns when we do cb. Since even less Ax hands are in our range, so if we are the opp here we should call down with like 55 vs barrels.

Now if we come back to being hero and we cb flop and an Ax comes on turn, we should maybe not cb vs a very good hand reader (when we have nothing) but still vs the majority of players at lower stakes we should still barrel since they do not think deep enough.

I thought it was a fun simple example.

Simple short term plan is 10k hands by end of the month, if i reach that ill go for more hands next month. Ill alwasy be somewhat slow to move up in stakes since I dont have time to grinds 1000s of hands due to work, bball, life.

Bankroll wise I wanna at least double my roll by xmas, this is obtainable if I can run good at 100nl while I get comfortable.

+143 today for 950 odd hands. good session at 100nl, one utterly sick spot 200bb deep i squeezeish AA, bet flop and shove PSB on turn on J rag rag rag board. opp times down with KK, calls then sucks out on river. otherwise id be up another 400$ lol. oh well

+73 over 600 hands. I was so bored last night, didnt know whether to watch a movie, play guitar or poker. So i wasted about an hour doing nothing until i loaded up some tables, im abit unhappy i played tired and tried to 6-8 tables. Im trying to increase my multitabling just a little bit. Not many hands of note, I mark hands in HM to review/post but once I go over them im like meh std.

I played well but the tiredness did affect me alot and shouldnt of played 8 tables, shud of just played between 4-6 just to lack of focus.

RIght now regards my game im tweaking my 3bet % and my SB stealing %.

very nice, i think ur gonna have a +1k month! it's actually fun putting in hours when you are playing well and winning too.

btw i have a leggo subscription and it is WAY worth it. couple sauce, nuts vids + i like aejones. however it expires in 2 months and am interested to know what CR is like

im probably up just like $300 dollars so far in HM, tho im not incl any RB but that wudnt be too much.

Had a 900 hand sesh last night but lost 40$, lost a buyin as i was shutting down tables. Funny enough I made a mistake for 50$ at the end of the hand, shud of folded my QQ overpair on turn in 3bet pot but meh whatever.

Im happy im playing well in what is my 1st month back at 100nl, more regs on tables but they seem too emotionally tied to spots to find folds etc.

Ive a DC membership that lasts until mid Jan, Im trying to watch vids from other instructors there incase im missing some gems. Still the best ones are Gman, Balugawhale,FWF and too an extent Whitelime, Krantaz, jk3a. All have a good amount of vids. Signed up for free poker training on CR so hopefully I get enough point pm on FTP to avail of it. Need to earn 5500 points a month or half that to get just 2 weeks access.

Kinda a mini goal to get that now. Also im about 6.5k/10k into my mni-op to reach 10k this month, think I can close this out. Whatever I get to this month hands wise will be my goal for next month.

Sick weekend, lost about 500$ at 100nl. Now Im in the red for about 100$. Each KK hand flops an Ace is all ill say lol.

Roll is about $2500 so its all good but I may grind some 50nl, still shaking off some rust imo.
