I MADE IT!!!!! We did about 20 flips at .01/.02 hi/lo, and i lost pretty much all of them. Totally crushed the games today, and made a huge push to go on and get SNE before I leave for Christmas. I have to go right now though, in a bit of a hurry. Feels so good!!! HELL YEAH!!

I still feel really good about my accomplishment. In addition, to review my goals for 2008, I completed all of them. I went to Vegas and had a great time, I stayed a winning player, and I made SNE! Especially during the final push, I've really been fighting with myself about what I'm going to do for 2009. The time is fast approaching, so I'm going to make some executive decisions.

I have SNE for 6 months in 2009, then it's gone. The thing about playing when SNE is you have that giant frequent player points multiplier, so I think it would be a bit of a waste to not play my ass off while I have it. In addition, it's going to be winter for a few of those months, so I might as well grind while the weather isn't very favorable. However, when the seasons change and it starts to warm up big time, I want to put on my traveling hat and start seeing what's out in the world.

I'm not going to say at this point whether I'm going to go for SNE again. What I will say, is I want to improve the quality of my play. It is definitely hard to try and improve playing so many tables, but I think reviewing and playing in ways that try to exploit other players is the second best way to win in today's game, the first being fish finding with good table selection.

My goals will be as follows:

    1.) Remain a winning player.

2.) Improve my tournament game and final table some tournaments next year.

3.) Travel and do lots of new things in this amazing world.

4.) Be more active this year.

I was laying in bed tonight, about to pass out, when something dawned on me. It's a new month. Two months of this year has passed by already, and I have fallen into a disgusting zone. What is that disgusting zone, you may ask? Complacency.

Somewhere along the line, I have gotten complacent with the state of things. That my friends, is not ok. So I had a bit of a discussion in my head, decided to get up out of bed, and start March off right.

The thing is, I'm not losing. I'm not playing "bad". I'm a winning player, which falls into the line of my "goals" for this year. The thing is, I can do better than that. I have great work ethic, I always have. So why should I settle? The answer is, I shouldn't. Time to go out there and kick ass.

    It's been too long.

Anyway, after some thoughts about the new Stars promotion, I *may* be returning to another SNE chase. I've already confirmed going to WSOP for the Main Event (I plan on winning and everyone seeing me on TV a bunch, just letting you all know ahead of time), so the extra 100k VPPs may be just enough to get me over the hump.

At the tail end of this session tonight, I played a hand that most people would just say "whatever, cooler" and move on. But for me, and the situation and the player, I did the worst thing possible, knew what he had, and called anyway. When assigning ranges it's paramount not to have too narrow of a range or you'll probably end up folding every hand or every time you get raised postflop. But if a player has a super narrow range, even if you have a good hand, even a really great close-to-the-nuts hand, you have to go with what's right.

Needless to say I'm disappointed in myself, even though I lost a stack that many people would have written off, I find myself still thinking hard about it. But even though most people would have said that I played it fine, I'm not trying to be like everyone else. I'm trying to be head and shoulders above. I will prevail.
