I don't think anything that can be made up over a couple hands is a downswing. I think that is just paying the blinds.
I disagree, my average stakes are probably about 1000nl, its not really relevant that I decided to play some big games in an attempt to make my losses back quickly and getting lucky at that. A downswing is a downswing.
