Default Operation: I'm Jealous of Kiwi and Surviva's love

Cliff notes: I'm sick of being a fatass so I'm trying to drop 30lbs by mid summer and cutting back on fat greasy shit.

Howdy FTR, so I've been out of the Marines for about 3 months now, and since then i haven't really worked out... at all. I weighed 180-185lbs coming out of boot camp and I was pretty happy with how my body looked, but since I've gotten out my weight has creeped up to the 205-210lb range. I still look skinnyish since I'm tall as shit, but it irks me that I way this much. It sucks cuz its been really shitty on my self confidence when I try to put on a shirt I wore last year and its kinda tight across my chest/stomach (more stomach than chest :/)

So anyways heres some goals and the point of this blog.

The goal is to be back down to 180-190lbs.

There is no set date for this to be accomplished since I'm not sure how fast I'll be able to lose the weight. I'd like it to be done sometime mid-June/early July tho so I can enjoy the summer and the beaches and such.

Start to eat healthier and start exercising again. I've felt like a lump of shit just sitting around eating Taco Bell and Lil Caesar's all the fucking time.

    Everyone else is doing it!

I'll be tracking my results at least weekly. I doubt I'll be counting calories and shit cuz let's face it, I dont give a fuck about that. Basically what I'm going to be doing is cutting out MOST (note: not all lol) of the greasy fast food shit and actually cooking for myself every once in a while.

I'm not sure what my goals for exercising will be. First thing is I'll be running at least 4-5 times a week, preferably for 20 minutes or longer every time (~2.5-3 miles if I can get back up to my boot camp pace).

So anyways, thats it for now. I'll probably be going for a run once the sun starts coming up cuz thats the cool thing to do and I don't wanna be hit by a car.

    <3 kiwi and surviva

Bout to head out for my first run and then shower and breakfast.

    Starting weight: 207.2

Just got outta the shower and grabbed a bite to eat while typing this. I'm not sure how I feel about the results of my run. I managed to run for 6 minutes continuously, but I'm not sure whether I should feel happy about that or be disappointed. Probably somewhere in between.

Regardless, I went for a run and now I feel fucking fantastic. I was kind of dragging ass before I left, feeling kind of tired, rundown, etc but now that I'm out of the shower I'm pretty much wide awake and ready to go.

For breakfast I'm just having a bowl of macaroni salad (a smallish one) and a bottle of water. I know macaroni salad is kind of weird for breakfast, but nothing else looked appetizing and pasta + tuna + some other shit can't be too bad for me.

That's about it, I doubt I'll make marathon posts like this that often lol, just kind of excited since I'm getting on the path to not being a fat pos.

Nice. I like what I see. Good luck with getting toned dude. I suggest fixing your sleep schedule a bit since I know yours sucks.

Also, I know you stopped smoking for the time being and all, but if you are going to do so, cook something good for you to eat BEFORE smoking. It's too easy to become lazy after smoking and be like "Fuck it, let's just order ______."

And it looks like I started a new trend on FTR. Everybody's doin' it!

And why the fuck do Kiwi and Surviva get <3? I'm honestly kind of upset by this.

on a more serious note, gl dranger. if you are disciplined enough to endure a boot camp, i'm sure this goal wont be troublesome for you if you want it enough.

@ BooG thats a genius ass idea to cook before hand lol. Cuz it's absolutely true to just be like, man we could make mac n' cheese (obv this is a bad example for a fitness thing but u get what i mean), or we could go to taco bell. Clearly the stoners are going to take the epicness of T-bell over mac n' cheese.

They got the luv cuz they were in IRC when I was asking for op titles obv.

Thanks for the support guys, and BooG pointed this out in IRC a bit ago that 30lbs by June/July is prolly going to be pretty difficult. That's fine, I'm not trying to set myself up for failure or anything, as long as I'm below 200 and I lose some of this flabbyness around my midriff I'll be content.

imo 30 pounds by June/July is not gonna happen without involving:

fwiw I did a little recon and most sources agree that between like 175-205 is healthy for someone who is 6'4'' (I think that is your height but I might be off). I think 175 sounds really fucking skinny for someone that tall but whatevs. Also see this link for more info.

Yea, 205 might be 'healthy' but I just don't like telling ppl I way over 200lbs when they ask me. Idk its a pride/ego thing, but it makes me embarrassed when it happens, and I'm aiming for somewhere in the middle of that range. I'm really not fat at all, I just remember what I felt/looked like after boot camp and I just don't this trend of me getting bigger and softer to continue.

I'm looking to settle around 180-185 when its all said and done, and like I stated above, I'm not concerned about hitting the target by June/July (although it would be nice) just so long as im in the mid to low 190's ill be content.

Less pot and ergo less munchies. Less taco bell and mcdonalds and I can't possibly see why this is necessary.

Following the link in DC's post:

    Your weight: 207 pounds

Healthy body weight range is: 148 to 199 pounds

    Your BMI: 25.9

    Healthy BMI range: 18.5 - 25

You are overweight for your height.

*puke* lol I know I'm not that far over, but even being on the high side of those measurements make me want to barf. I always used to be in the middle.

Lol I just thought of this, before anyone thinks I hate my body or something and that I'm going to go bulimic or something, I'm not. I just want to be healthier and get back to where I was during/shortly after high school and maintain it.

GL. Just thought I'd throw this out there. The part in bold, can be very bad for you.

A lot of pasta salads, tuna salad, etc. are mixed with mayonaise. Mayonaise has a ton of fat in it. Read the label. Honey-mustard sauce is even worse.

Hove you noticed all the fat people eating salads? They also put a ton of salad dressing on there. Salad dressing also has tons of fat. Don't eat it. Fat people like sour cream too.

So, don't eat mayonaise, cheese, salad dressing, or sour cream.

Ignore the haters, do it for the exercise-feel-goods if not for becoming skinny imo, plus blah blah blah healthy weight but you can lose the chubbiness and put on sexy muscle to compensate ldfo

um, disappointed. Like, you should be unhappy that you couldn't run further than a legless centipede, but stoked that you actually got your arse off the couch and went for a run. Now get fitter, shouldn't take long - hell, the residual fitness from marines training should be hanging around nearby

Lol BooG and DC fuck you guys.

Thanks for the tips PlayToWin and for the support daven and lol legless centipede. :'( You're right, it honestly won't take long at all for me to be able to get back to where I was (or close to it). I think I short changed myself this morning. I was kinda winded so I just started walking a bit cuz I've been doing nothing but smoking and sitting on a couch for the past 4-6 weeks lol.

Down to 203 which is obviously good. It's amazing how easy it is to lose weight when you stop chuggin pop and Monster like its water and don't eat fast food for a week other than healthyish Subway subs twice.

Haven't really ran as much as I've wanted to, but I've been pretty busy with work and ladyfriend but thats not an excuse. I'm going to (not try, GOING TO) pull my head out of my ass this week and run at least 4-5 times.

good to hear on the diet front.
Now get out there and do some running.

Check out some other routines too - think you'll probably enjoy some of the standard plyometrics routines (google "plyometric training for sprinters) that i went through with my then girlfriend living in madrid and training for circus...

Lol, no idea. You guys come up with the terms and I'll decide if I'll agree lol. I'd def need 2.5:1 odds imo.

    Updates!

I've been lazy... sort of. I haven't really been running that much, only 3 times since last update. But I've been doing other things to get some form of exercise in such as playing basketball and football with friends for 2+ hours. Works up a decent sweat and its a lot more enjoyable. My 'diet' if you will, is going ok. I've had fast food twice since last update which is a LOT better than what it normally is. I haven't smoked pot in a week unless you count like 3 joints and bowl of shake that didn't even get me high (I don't).

So I was chatting with one my brother and I's (proper grammar ftw) old middle/high school friend and he told me he's been training at the new MMA gym in town which opened up pretty recently. He's trying to get a fight scheduled for June, but so far no luck. From what I remember of the kid he's a beast: 6'4 175lbs but built like a fucking rock. He asked what I'm up to lately and if I was interested in MMA at all. I told him I thought it would be something I'd be interested in getting into and he told me to swing by the gym Friday at 6pm and he'll show me what's up.

I'm obviously pretty excited about this since with the intense training that these guys have to put themselves through I'll drop weight and gain muscle in NO time. He told me he's only been at it for 3 weeks and he's dropped 15lbs. If I stick with it (and I think I might, he told me its only $20/mo to attend the gym) I'm eager to see what my results will be by the end of the summer. In my other blog/op Self Control I said I wanted to get into boxing towards the end of the year. MMA is just as good (better) imo.

Here's to getting my ass kicked in!
