Default I beat Metroid when I was six, Maybe Poker when I'm sixty~~

    Hey Everyone,

Well, i decided to finally start on of these. Honestly, up until about a month and a half ago I really wasn't sure where I was going in this poker world. Today, I think that has changed.

Foremost, I would like to thank each and everyone that makes this site possible. There are qualities to this forum that set it far above anything else out there.

I'm not going to go rambling about my poker discography and the like. I prefer to keep the subject on the recent past, the now, and the 4th Dimension.(the future)

    Recent Past

Joined FTR last spring , and made my first deposit since BF.. At this point I had a lot working against me. My ole laptop was on the brink , and it crashed aoon after I had made my deposit. Which had me playing hands at the local library. No HUD, No time, it sucked....

So i stopped playing while I saved for a new lap. This is when I began saving hands posted in the past and sorta doing my own mock reviews. It was during these detailed reviews I had my first recent "aha". Range v. Range was becoming clearer to me , I just really started to get a confident grasp on things.

During the second week of October i finally had my penny's counted up, and i purchased This here laptop. So with a head full of piss and vinegar I downloaded PT4, equilab, and Lock Poker.......... reloaded $40 bucks....... and immediately donked off half of it..

    The Now

Fast forward to this here turkey day and things are shapin up a lot nicer:

I've almost 3x my roll in a little over a month. Really , I think it boils down to these few simple things..(in no specific order)
    1. Focus
    2. Setting daily goals.
    3. The sweats that weasel has done with me vice/versa.(Thank you Wease, Your input has been honest and invaluable to me.)
    4. The BC, and everyone who takes time to give fishy's like me free advice, thank you.

    The Future
All i have to say about things to come is that I have devoted myself and time to becoming better at this game. I truly enjoy all the aspects of it. Learning and having fun doing it is whats most important to me. As long as neither of the two stop happening. I will be playing poker.

I really like this statement - with this attitude, I'm sure you'll do well and progress through the micros in due course (if that's what you even hope for). Well done on your results too - your graph suggests the investment you've made in hard work so far is beginning to pay off.

Keep posting hands, commenting on others and good luck at the tables.

Oh man, I used to have the sweetest black deck: 4 Royal assassins , 4 nightmares(my fav), Demonic Horde, Will-o-the wisp, Sengir Vampire, yeah what an awesome card game....

Thanks Bean, what an awesome feeling it is when all these aspects of learning start to pay off.

As for what I hope for: Yeah, i do plan on stepping up through the micro's, I'm excited to see what challenges lay ahead in these dirty little micro world. Obv from there i hope to keep it moving up and up. I will post a sort of timeline goal in this thread here soon.

Yepper, And I can say this for sure. I do believe their is a dreaded disease in the poker world: Auto-Pilot!!!!

I'm making a real effort to get reads, put villains on a range , and stay away from the auto-pilot button..

LOL, no I'm 32 . I guess i just have these little gems of memories. Where i was playing my original NES. Stuck like chuck at one of the latter stages of the original metroid, and BAM. I get bit by the determination bug.

The reason i made the age analogy is because poker, unlike any game i have ever played has challenged me beyond what I think my limits are sometimes. What a sweet feeling that is when we begin to conquer these cahllenges....

    Thanks everyone

    Default hello

    Sup guys,

"Positive energy activates, constant elevation". If any half-sappy line rings true in my stale brain. This is one for sure.

Two days ago I decided to take the step up to 10nl on Lock. I'm not quite rolled for it , but I have implemented a stop-drop plan. Weasel sweated me on my first venture, which Thanks Wease.

So my plan is basically this: If I drop 2bi's I drop. In this future I will then prob just stay @4nl for a time .

As it goes I'm running great at the dimes. Only over 1,200 hands , but I'm up 3bi's. More importantly I feel comfortable and confident playing these new stakes. Honestly I've seen some better ATM fishy's here then @ 4nl. I have a little theory for this. I think when any Joe Gambler loads $30-40 bucks. he wants to play for $10 instead of $4.

So, I'm currently sitting on 20bi's for 10nl, I will be posting regular updates and hands as they come in.

    Thanks guys

I have +/- 4 BI swings in a single session sometimes. I know this contradicts my earlier commitment to stoploss, but variance can be mind-bending. I lost my first 6 all-in pots today with the best hand going in every time. -4 BI in 2 hours over junk like:
    AK vs AQ... Q river
    AA vs KK... K river
AKs vs AKs... he rivers a flush.
KK vs. 32s... he flops trips.
    etc.
