Default Ways to improve at poker

Hey everyone! So, I would like to improve at the game of poker to run my bankroll from $130 to hopefully $5000 and beyond. Does anyone have good ways to improve my game and build a bankroll? All suggestions all much appreciated.

Any specific books, videos, forums or whatever is a bonus!!!

Learn the math and language of game theory and probability theory. Honestly, if you're the kind of person who thinks it's OK to say they are "bad at math," then I don't expect you'll be playing poker for long, anyway. So follow your natural inquisitions about poker, and if they don't involve math, realize that you're trying to "feel" your way through topics which are quite well described in math. Yes, plenty of successful players do it w/o math, but they are unlikely to have done so playing online poker. Playing live at the table is definitely less about math and more about psychological warfare, but poker is always about both. It's easier to beat live games w/o math if you have a strong sense of reading peoples' intentions.

Spend as much time studying the game as playing (if not studying a bit more than playing).

Constantly force yourself to realize that you are at the bottom of the learning curve, here. Probably very little of what you think you understand about poker is anything you'll be proud of in a few years. Constantly search for leaks and misapprehensions you have about poker.

Always look for what you may have done differently and honestly assess whether or not that is an improvement.

Post any hands or thoughts in FTR that you found to be either troubling or interesting. We'll walk you through the nuances that might be overlooked.

I'm usually less general, but I don't know you, yet.

Once I understand where you are in poker, specifically, then I (well, FTR) will be giving you advice which is more personal to your skill set.
