Default K High Flush No Good? Or Played Poorly?

    Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.04 BB (6 handed) - Party-Poker Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com

    CO ($10.01)
    Hero (Button) ($4.79)
    SB ($4)
    BB ($4.55)
    UTG ($4.32)
    MP ($5.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, K
1 fold, MP bets $0.16, CO calls $0.16, Hero calls $0.16, 2 folds

    Flop: ($0.54) 7, 2, 6 (3 players)
MP checks, CO checks, Hero bets $0.26, MP calls $0.26, 1 fold

    Turn: ($1.06) 4 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $0.75, MP calls $0.75

    River: ($2.56) 8 (2 players)
    MP bets $2.12, Hero ???

    MP is 15/9 (56 hands)
    CO is 57/19 (88 hands)

    My questions...

    1) Was my flat call pre-flop here good? I thought about a 3-bet to try and isolate the CO but the open from MP had be thinking a slightly more cautious play was in order.. is my thinking good here?

    2) I bet the flop and turn mostly because I expected CO to call light. When MP called the turn bet I wasn't sure what to make of it, but thought more than likely he has an overpaid, or made a set. A straight draw that made on the river was also possible. My thinking was that MP probably didn't think I had flush cards being that I led out at the flop. Did I make mistakes here too?

    3) Is anybody folding at the river?

I don't really play cash games but this hand looks ok to me. I'd probably fold the river.

Don't fold. Repeat do not fold. Question is whether to ship it over or just call.

    +1.

As long as you didn't fold river, hand is played fine.

Call, there's worse flush and some b/f hands that villain has where he thinks you were betting an AdX hand.

If you think he´s an ok player call
If you think he´s bad, or you have a read that he overvalues hands raise

Bleh, hes only got like 2 combos of flushes here. If he spazzes just one combo we can call here, and i think thats likely enough. I dont see much point in raising.

You played it fine if you called the river.

    1) yes, & yes (except for the part about ISOing the CO... no reason to overvalue KJs here.)

    2) yes. Your in-game analysis is good, but you need to attach real ranges to those thoughts when you do post-game analysis.

    3) no, river is a call all day long against all but a) the tightest nits on river bets (fold) or b) the type to call down with 5x on this board (raise).

Point 3 is rubbish, we are literally never folding this unless we have some amazing read (which we won't have).

If MP guy is incredibly nitty hands that have us beat which are in his range are AdQd and AdTd, and even someone who is massively nitty is betting his sets in that situation and I'd be very surprised if he wasn't betting at least AA too. Even if he is only betting 77 in that situation we have >50% equity.

Admittedly, I struggle with ranges, particularly when the clock is ticking. I'm working on it.. but progress is slow, NOT a natural gift I posses.

Thank you to all, comments on this thread have been very helpful.

Do you practice whilst not playing? Literally just go through any hand that ends up all in or goes to showdown and break down your opponents range in every spot and see how often villain is in that range.

I actually think that's a good idea for a daily thread. Post a hand and then everyone puts villain on ranges for every spot and maybe speculates about how they think villain plays different parts of his range.
