Default Important lesson for people holding high pocket pairs

I played in two SNGs today in both I knocked an someone out who had pocket Kings, simply because they didn't raise pre-flop. I know some people say if they enter the flop cheaply they can leave cheaply but it is better to collect blinds than lose your own on the flop. Without narrowing the field before the flop comes down allows garbage hands to become winners as you will see with one of my hands on the BB. In both occassions if they had raised PF I would have fold. They were also unable to let go of their pocket kings forcing them all in on the turn. Don't make the same mistake as they did RAISE your high pocket pairs & don't be afraid to let them go if you feel your behind. Heres the Hands remeber them well as one wasn't very strong and the other was garbage.

The only thing I would add here is that your second hand even if you raise with kings, I'm going to call you in hopes of that exact situation (Unless your raise is ridiculous, or your small stacked.)

But yes, please raise your good hands, and stop trying to be sneaky!

If you are calling approx. 1/4 of your stack (assuming a standard 300 chip raise here from KK) hoping to hit a set then you have a leak in your game.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

yeah you may well call if this guy had raised pf with pocket 2's. I use the 5/10% rule of my stack & theirs to see if its worth calling. Neither of this hands did I have pocket kings its my oppenents that did. Just thought it was worthing putting on here for the beginners to see its not worth being sneaky.Certainly wouldn't have called 300 raise with pocket ducks

Hence my conditional statement. It was meant for general circumstances, just like the original post was. I am sorry I didn't infer that in my ridiculous raise statement. (ie: calling a raise for too much of your own stack...)

And FFS don't read this post as saying it's ok to min-raise with your big hands.

A min-raise will do nothing to keep a lot of good drawing hands (eg 22, 98s, etc) from playing with you....just don't do it.

The only times limping with big pairs should be encouraged is if you have a very, very solid read that a player still to act will get aggressive if limped to and will do your betting for you but even then you can't be certain.

Never let anyone in to a hand cheaply if you have cards that are vulnerable to multi-way pots.

Certainly don't min raise with them either. i usually raise 4xBB
