    Default b/f Leak

I have a problem. I can finally admit it so theres something. My problem is this, I don't like to bet/fold. In most situations I will either check, check/call, or check fold to avoid bet/fold altogether.

In summary I need help learning to bet then fold.
    Help

Don't you ever bluff? ie a real bluff, not a semi bluff? Surely you must b/f then. If not, start doing it. You'll soon get the hang of it, it feels good.

I don't bluff much thats true. The thing I was thinking about is betting then letting it go on the next card.i have trouble letting go of things not just in poker. (off topic but gives u an idea of the kinda person i am, once i almost broke down the ex wifes door.)

Read ISF's ENTIRE strategy series. In that series, one particular article will relate to your question most directly: ISF's "5 rules for beating low stakes." In that post, you will find a link to this strategy article that got posted in the short-handed forum:

I've found the biggest leak among .5/1 and 1/2 grinders

That epic post could be entitled: ISF tells you everything you need to know about the bet/fold.

in general regs like to see noobies in the BC put a bit of thought into their posts, since thinking better is the only way to get better at poker

please read the ISF threads / posts above - they will help you immensely if you read, study and think about them

In general, a good kind of spot to think about bet/folding is when you have a +EV value bet, but your opponent is never raising you on a bluff, and calling their raise isn't profitable.

For example, say you open KQ preflop and a tight nitty player calls in LP. The flop comes Q76r. You c-bet, and they call. The turn comes a T that keeps the board rainbow. You bet, and your opponent raises.

Thread I created a month or so ago, has link to ISF's b/f post and a lot of HH examples of when to b/f and even some maths at the end.
