Default AQ, TPTK in 3b POT, IP

Might have the wrong thought process here but guy 3bets a ton like 8% or so. I think flatting is good here, keeping in his worse aces.

When he checks the flop I think:

    1) Hes checking to check fold, as check raising this flop doesnt make much sense.

    2) Hes pot controlling with tens, jacks..., QK?

I decided on the first and thought checking behind was good and go for a delayed bet. Once he starts firing I see no value in raising, is call down standard?

Yeah I bet this flop when he checks over. If he calls and checks turn, we can check behind and call river. If he raises flop or calls flop + leads turn, we can fold.

I like this line, assuming we know he'll bet turn often either for thin value or as a bluff with air that was ck/folding on the flop.

Given that he checks? Hmm good question. That entirely depends on his check raise %.

Bet the flop. You're well ahead of an 8% 3bet range on this flop. Obviously, his range does narrow if he doesn't fold, so caution would be warranted, but taking the pot down quite often when he does fold seems like a decent result, plus he may well call with some hands that are behind such as KQ

I'm fine with hero's line. He's folding flop way more often than he is calling with worse and we can get value from him firing the turn and river.

i think the bold is bad logic. and i think the underlined is important in understanding why.

    pre is good

given the flop texture leaves us either way ahead or way behind i cant see the flop check being a huge mistake, if it is one at all. i think our best line depends on whether or not villain is liable to start trying to bluff us at any point in the hand. if he is, i say we take the line that is most likely to cause him to bluff. if he's not, i think checking back this flop as a default is fine because we're possibly just value-owning ourselves against a better hand being played deceptively when we bet, and we aren't really afraid of many turn cards at all, so i don't think the controversial "protecting our equity" logic applies here very much at all. though if we can do something to make villain try to bluff us with any frequency yeah do that and just call down vs whatever we think his bluff line is.

Not convinced! I want to bet flop. I think if we are defending vs his 3bets we need to be betting! If we're not betting tptk here we are stupid exploitable. Villain is 3bing 8% he is gonna have some worse Qs in his range here plus 9x TT JJ. He isn't likely Chk folding a board this dry. We don't have to go after his stack if we're not comfortable but I actually think we can. How we react to a c/r from him depends on how he's played before this shouldn't effect out decision to bet.

I agree. This flop is like a dream flop for villain if he has like AA/KK/set in the sense that AQ/KQ/QJ/JT/T9 is in our range, some hands more probable than others.

He is most likely cbetting a ton here (polarized range) and when he elects to check I assume he does so with his "too weak to value bet but still have value" hands.

Also worth noting he's probably 3betting way more than 8% here.

I also want to be raising the river as I think we are basically always ahead + we can be bluff shoving (at least in his eyes) JT.
