    Default AK at the quarters

    i minopen from lp sometimes.
villain is 16-13-6 with 70% fold to 3b and 70% fold to cbet. He's ok, probably a winning player i guess

I think 4bet sizing is fine but I'd probably just c/f flop. From the stats you gave he's probably not auto bluffing flop when you check and this board texture (although he folds to cbets a lot) probably isn't convincing him to fold. I mean maybe with Ad or Kd in our hand.

I'm check folding this flop as well.

What hands out of his flatting range pre do you think are folding to a less than 1/2 PSB on the flop? I don't think he's folding 88,99,TT,JJ,QQ AQ AJ AK with Ad or AQdd AJdd here for 1 bet especially with that sizing.

I don't play FR so my ranges could be off.

I'd prob 4b more, maybe 4.25. I'd always cb here. He plays pretty fit or fold on the flop and the min open bet plus the 4b is pretty strong and I'm happy to take the pot on the flop. Prob cb about 60% of pot and barrel lots of turns.

I think we're laying him too good a price with this sizing + position, make it like $4.75.

Probably just bet this size then c/f turn/river.

edit: cbet is ok because he can air type hands that called our small 4bet.

Horrible flop, and that's why I don't like over valuing AK.

I like cbetting this flop vs. this guy . if our image has been pretty clean then he'll be feeling pressure after faltting you. I would make it a little more than 1/2 pot also to try and maybe maximize some fold equity.

If we've been splashing around then this guy has seen every bit of it been alongside IP. In which case i may just flat his 3b....

As for the chemist not wanting to over-value AK.... Why shouldn't we over value it??? If we want to make money using fold equity i disagree.

I don't like the min open. The rest looks good to me.

cheers for all the replies, i think i like going a little bit bigger with the 4b.
Villain needed to fold to the cbet about 30% of the time for it to breakeven without considering future cards/streets. Bet-sizing huh, does strange things to percentages like that. Villain snap-folded.

How big would you cbet AA here?

we shouldn't overvalue it. We should value it very highly though cos it's the nuts preflop most of the time. And postflop it has outs against a lot of continuing hands. And we can pretend that the king is another ace if we are ever uncertain of what action to take.

very good question daven.. I think w/ A's half pot is fine here, which in turn makes me wanna not say what i said about AK.lol because if we are always betting bigger in 4b pots w/ different hands , and not texture , we may run into some trouble......

The small flop bet size [with our entire range] is probably fine considering that we won't be bluffing a huge amount of the time here.

Thanks for responding here spoon, yeah this makes sense.

I'm glad daven brought this to light w/ his question. cause my original idea about fold equity didn't make much sense,,
