    Default 25NL: 4bet ? Give up on flop ?

    Villian Stats : (VP$IP/PFR [Street Aggression] 3-bet%)

    20/19 [3 inf 2] 11% over 83

    My Thoughts And Questions

I had being raising his BB alot and he had being 3betting me every now and then. I decided let it go the first few times expecting his range to be stronger now than later after i have 3bet/folded a bit. Is this a good spot to throw in a 4bet? Is my 4bet sizing ok as it leave me in a horrible spot when he calls. Maybe a 4bet jam ? When he calls what do i do on this flop?

    Poker Stars $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

    CO: $31.25
    BTN: $25.65
    Hero (SB): $25.00
    BB: $26.45
    UTG: $39.65
    MP: $27.30

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is SB with K Q
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, BB raises to $2.50, Hero raises to $6.50, BB calls $4

    Flop: ($13.00) 6 9 4 (2 players)
    Hero?

with a little over 13 in the pot i think i would come out with a $9 bet, if he calls, then he might just have 2 overs like you, which mean if its another small card on turn, good probablity you could buy it then, if he has a over pair he will reraise and you could fold, but most likely sick of you raising and will fold if a bet on the flop

$9 is way too much, if I bet (which I wouldn't and think PF is rly bad) I'd make it like $5.50 at the most.

nothing wrong with calling the 3bet PF, you have a hand that plays well in 3bet pots against a light 3bettor but your hand doesn't play that well in 4bet pots against typical continuing ranges. I'd rather pick hands like AJs/KQs/AQ/99-JJ to call here and turn other hands into bluffs and 4bet like QQ+/AK for value.

I agree with flat preflop. Against a wide 3betting range, your hand will play well, as well as you are ahead of his 3betting range.

Out of curiousity, what would you then do on this flop with a flat pre?

obv. i'm no 4betting as bluff expert, seeing as how i just came up with a post asking a bunch of questions about it, but can't see how KQs is a good hand to do it with. what do you do if you hit a K or a Q? hell even if you flop two pair you don't have the nuts.

4betting medium PP's and SC's and even Axs has to have much better potential. not saying that i know which of those are the best to do it with or which situations are the best to do it in or anything, but all of them are definitely better than KQs.

i think we can flat pre profitably and possibly put him in a bad way, but it's either gonna take a lucky flop and/or very solid postflop play. i flat pre though

Well KQ cuts the chances of villain having QQ/KK/AK/AQ from 44 combos to 30 combos. And those are hands he's likely to be 3betting. So KQ does have blockers working in its favor. Also, when we 4bet we don't really expect to get flatted all that often, and if he is 3betting something like TT/JJ and calling a 4bet then we have 50% equity.

However, your right here.. Since we can profitably call KQs here, it would be best to call the 3bet with it, and 3bet a hand with less value that we can't profitably call with like J7s or whatever.

When is it best to 4bet 2.5x or 4bet jam ?
