Default 10NL: a few hands for review

Hand 1: Villain is 53/6/.73 over 45 hand, no other reads.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Hero (Button) ($10)
    SB ($12.15)
    BB ($6.15)
    UTG ($12.50)
    MP ($13.85)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q, K
1 fold, MP calls $0.10, Hero bets $0.50, SB calls $0.45, 2 folds

    Flop: ($1.20) 2, 4, 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.90, SB calls $0.90

    Turn: ($3) 4 (2 players)
    SB checks, Hero ..?

Hand 2: Exact same villain profile, 68/13/.5 over 40 hands, no other reads. UTG raiser was 19/14/2.6 over 223 hands and maybe shouldn't have been 3betting him. In hindsight calling for set value may be better, especially with the passive station in the blinds.

    UTG ($10)
    MP ($27.85)

    Hero (Button) ($13.65)
    SB ($4.05)
    BB ($7.85)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, J
UTG bets $0.40, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1.30, 1 fold, BB calls $1.20, 1 fold

    Flop: ($3.05) A, K, 7 (2 players)
    BB checks, Hero checks

    Turn: ($3.05) 4 (2 players)
    BB bets $6.55 (All-In), Hero....?

Hand 3: Villain is silly 80/27/1 over 15 hands, basically folded once I think. Am I too weak to be isolating him here? :P I'm posting this hand because its one of the worst I've played all week IMO and one of the few where I get stacked. oops, results.

Hand 1: Check turn theirs no point firing a second barrel here as villain is likely to call down with anything. Maybe bluff if a picture card comes on river.

Hand 2: I like the 3 bet preflop. I’d go for a cbet on flop unless you’ve got him down as a station. I figure villains range so wide that he misses a ton though it’s probably pretty thin as theirs a lot of A and K in their as well. Donks don’t care that the pot was 3bet so I don’t really think his calling range needs to be adjusted. Fold turn.

Hand 3: Don’t like preflop. Raise turn. All in on river. Meh variance.

Hand 4: Try and check it down. Standard.

Hand 5: I hate this spot. Your odds aren’t terrible. Crying call?

One thing before I start to comment on hands. Do you understand what AF means? Like what it is showing you specifically? Guys with ~1 AFs are typically calling stations, thus c-betting vs. them goes down in value. Guys with AF's ~2 are standard aggression, meaning they don't call down often, and bet when the hit. AF 3+ guy is agrro, bluffing often, let him hang himself.

    On to the hands:

    Hand 1:

Look at your villain profile: 53/6/.73 = calling station. Not saying that this isn't a good flop to c-bet and I think you were correct in doing so, but betting 70-80 cents here does the EXACT same thing as 90 cents does, it just saves you money. As played, check back turn and if you improve on river bet, if not just check it down. Do NOT bluff stations like this. No sense in it and will cause massive frustration.

    Hand 2:

3betting an UTG raiser (especially one that seems marginally aware of what he is doing) with JJ is -EV. Just flat call and play for set value. If he checks flop AND turn, he likely has zilch. Obviously as played fold the turn. Why would you consider calling? Obviously it could just be a ridiculous attempt at winning the pot, but who cares? Get him next time when you are in a better spot. Remember how he played this hand so when you hit top two on a board like this you can check it to him and let him spew.

    Hand 3:

Isolating with this hand is probably weak, but as he appears to be a weak player it MIGHT be ok. I'd wait til I had more stats on him before I 3bet/iso him with a hand this weak. As played:I wouldn't mind just calling the turn TBH, and let him bet with his crap on the river for a 3rd barrel. Although since he is betting so small, I feel you have to raise to ~$2+ here to get value once you hit. If you just call turn, you have to bet/raise his river bet if non straight/flush card comes.

    Hand 4:

Once again, villain is a station, and with his raise in EP, I'm putting him on a hand a lot like yours, (missed overs with a possible FD) or a decent PP (88-QQ, I assume he would 4-bet KK+). Check back turn here imo, since he is more of a station its -EV to double barrel him. Try to improve on the river, and maybe bluff a diamond if it comes. Depends on if he can find the fold button in that situation.

    Hand 5:

Man this spot is kind of gross just because he is so passive with a AF of .5. No draws of have been completed, so I expect to see a set, two pair, etc here. But I agree with Pig_Vomit that you should make a crying call. I mean you got TPTK vs. a moron, but ugh moron is raising lol.

    1. This is a bad flop to c-bet. Check it back and take a free card. He has so many draws and rag pairs here in his range and you can't push him off.

    2. If you flat call preflop you keep the weaker portion of his UTG range in his continuing range to the flop i.e. small pairs etc. IF you 3-bet, he will fold most of the hands you are ahead of, so his calling range will be close to being ahead of JJ. Give him a chance to 1-2 barrell the weaker part of his range postflop.

    3. what those guys said (FWIW I don't like 3-betting this dude light with a suited gaper. KQ or something would be better, just flat in position preflop and let him spew to you postlfop.

    4. I hate these spots when my 3-bet pot c-bet is called on that flop and its checked to me again. I probably check back, he's not folding any mid pair type hand.

    5. I like betting closer to $1 on the flop than $1.50 because you'll be able to maintain better control of the pot size on the turn. You don't really want to stack off here if you get raised because this guy is another station. Guys AF is less than one. Snap fold the pair to the c/r.
If he was a tricky, more aggressive opponent who gets fancy postflop, I dont mind calling mostly because he's only repping like 2 hands when his c/r range is probably wider.

thx for the comments so far guys. and ya dranger, I understand the AF stat for the most part. I. Obviously it still gives me some problems now and then because I play like I did in these hands.

I know I'm c-betting too much and need to work on pot control. I'll be posting more hands soon, appreciate any comments.

    Results:

Hand 1: I fired again and folded when villain shoved river, bad.
    Hand 2: I folded
Hand 3: I got it all in and he showed me Q10 off soot for the shipitz
Hand 4: I checked it down
Hand 5: I shipped on the villain and he showed me KQ
