    Default [5NL] Playing TPGK OOP

This was villains 3rd hand so nothing to go on. Not too much interested in villain, more interested in how people would play TPGK OOP in this situation.

    PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

    BTN: $3.87
    SB: $5.26
    Hero (BB): $5.11
    UTG: $5.00
    MP: $5.08
    CO: $3.76

SB posts SB $0.02, Hero posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has K Q

fold, fold, fold, BTN calls $0.05, fold, Hero raises to $0.15, BTN calls $0.10

    Flop: ($0.32, 2 players) 2 3 Q
Hero bets $0.20, BTN calls $0.20

    Turn: ($0.72, 2 players) 8
Hero bets $0.40, BTN calls $0.40

    River: ($1.52, 2 players) 6
Hero bets $0.80, BTN raises to $2.00, Hero ???

This is a typical spot I find myself in and I think it's one of my biggest leaks. How would people play this hand?

I don't like leading out on 3 streets with only TP but I don't like the idea of c/c or c/f either. I feel I can at least do my best to control the pot if I do the betting and if I get raised I can get away from the hand. Thoughts?

Gonna post this one up as well as it's similar but obviously this time I am IP.

BB checks, MP bets $0.55, Hero calls $0.55, fold

    Turn: ($1.57, 2 players) 5
    MP bets $1.50, Hero ???

    Thoughts?

hand 1 - when you say 'not much interested in villain', how you play this type of spot is entirely dependent on villain. Anyway bigger pre, 25c on flop, 55c on turn as played, hero folds river hand is played ok.

hand 2 - fold pre, fold flop vs overbet, fold turn

hand 1. What % of the time do you think an unknown who limped the btn is going to fold when you make it 0.15? And how often do you think you need him to fold to make it profitable to raise KQ OOP? I don't have nice pat answers to these questions. The main point of asking them is for you to ask them and to see if the answers you come up with paint a coherent picture. If not, then you can think about whether betting more or checking behind would give you more coherent answers.

I am not raising to get a fold, I am raising for value as a button limp could be holding any Kx, Qx that I may be able to get value from.

The main reason I posted this hand is because I don't like leading out 3 streets with TPGK and bloating the pot ( although it does give me the chance to control the pot ) but I also don't like betting the flop and then c/c or c/f as I feel I could get pushed off my hand quite easily.

Just wondered how other people would have played it.

Playing oop sucks, and playing big pots oop sucks. However, btn in hand1 limped. Thats enough to be confident to bet/fold bet/fold bet/fold for value 3 streets.

What can he have? Never KK+, likely not AQ, and its hard to have 22,33. Q3/Q2 are laughable and you arent screwed against these holdings anyway. However, if he has QJ, QT, Q9 or heart-heart or 45 or something, then you are missing a ton of value by betting as small as you are. Villain limped his button, his hand sucks and hes probably bad and a calling station for doing it. He isnt gonna be tricky and hard to deal with, so just b/f b/f b/f.

I have no idea hand2. Without knowing who he is, i take the 0ev option and fold pre. I can see 3betting and calling depending on his stats though

Bet like a man in hand 1 prolly fold now and it's yr fault if villain thought its bluff time! Hand 2 folding pre is prolly standard without reason
