$25 NL/PL or $50 NL?
Hey guys - I'm curious which of these you think is a better group of tables for the classic tight/aggressive player. I play on Party Poker, and usually stick to the $25 NL or PL tables. However, I flit over to the $50 NL tables occasionally, and seem to always cream them. Today I was down maybe $50 playing on the $25 tables... switched to two $50 tables and immediately doubled my buy-in on both of them. And by immediately, I mean within an hour. So I'm not sure if this is just a fluke thing, or if it really is what it seems.
My experience so far is that the $50 tables respond almost exactly how you would want. If you raise 3xBB on all your premium hands, you get mostly folds, and usually one caller who will fold on the flop or turn as long as you keep betting strong. If you re-raise pre-flop, it's respected. It seems to me like these tables are tighter than the $25 ones, opening up more bluffing opportunities, and letting you get into the right kind of situations with your good hands (i.e. your AK vs. KJ or a similar so-so hand, and no other callers in the pot; you can usually know for certain that if the board comes with a low pair, the other player doesn't have the trips, because he wouldn't have called your pre-flop raise with low cards). On the other side, you can respect raises for the most part... not that many maniacs about. (I like to sit at these tables occasionally and play like a maniac for a little while just to make the other players nervous. You can get a little more action later on that way, too.)
