Depends on the price. If he bet low like this I might just take my cheap river, but if he bet closer to pot its a lot closer. Probably shove over and hate it if it was it was more than around $4.50

I'll be honest, I didn't really have a plan beyond hoping the board paired.

so you'd read a smaller bet on a blank turn as a stronger hand or you don't want to raise b/c you can't shove?

Without any reads its hard to tell whether a smaller bet is weak or strong in this particular case, but its more about the odds to call and my chance to improve.

I'm assuming his range is strong, and if he doesn't have QT, then he probably has say Qh and another h, or he has a lower set. I dunno, basically I'm lost enough that I'm not sure what I should be doing.

You don't need reads to know that a small lead on a blank is nowhere near a nut hand on this board and that someone instantly potting has QTxx or perhaps KKxx a large percentage of the time.

I'd raise flop although it's easier to say after he bets all streets, you have top set so F him

Ok, so I'm a little too worried about monsters under the bed if I'm too concerned about QT on a flop like this? He can have 2P or worse set or other crap often enough?

well his range isn't solely QTxx but having a J blocker isn't great for both his sets combos and kills an out if we're behind. He could be leading a lot of hands you have crushed so I like calling and reading his turn timing/bet size and going from there.

I discount QT enough since he led out that I'm fine getting it in when it's there. Plus if he bet/calls with QT he'll probably be folding this turn. I think he can have so many different hands I'd rather just make him figure it out and fall back on 35%.
