I just walk away from the game for a day or two. That's what works for me. If that doesn't work, drink some V8.

Take a break if tilt is affecting your decisions you should take some time away from poker and compose yourself.

    Hi vatopkr,

I am moving this thread along with your other poker-related one to an actual poker forum here on the site. The "FTR Community" forum is reserved for non-poker content.

But now my snarky reply is inappropriate!

My main advice is to realize that you are not entitled win any pot. Try to realize that being a better poker player doesn't mean you "should" win anything (in any short-term).

You are a chemical machine (among other things). Maintain the equipment. Get good rest. Eat healthy food.

The brain functions primarily on oxygen. Work on your cardio a couple of times a week. Get your heart rate up and keep it up for at least 15 minutes two days a week. No, your sex-life doesn't count. Also, take a deep breath or two when you need to make an important decision.

Special case: bad beat right before a mtt break, often experienced

When i lose a hand as a favourite, my first reflex is often: i want to win the chips back right now!

But then the tournament is on break and i am even more on tilt, because i cannot play, lol

    Do you know the feeling?

But the break helps to calm down...

If you have more tournaments to play, i suggest forget the badbeat, and you don't, forget the badbeat and go watch a serie or film.
Take a break of poker, use the time for study, watching the best online poker player playing. Then, after renovated, go back to poker.

Stop playing for a while, and always remember that poker is a long term game. Therefore, we must have patience.
