Default small poker edges from Mike Caro

Mike Caro has been around forever and some of the things he said at http://www.poker1.com/archives/1272/...es-that-add-up recently caught my eye.

    This part stood out:
Among other things, players are likely to fold if they’re (1) Staring at chips, (2) reaching for chips, (3) staring at cards, or (4) conspicuously watching you. They are likely to play if they’re (1) Ignoring chips, (2) ignoring cards, (3) staring away, or (4) especially quiet or still.
It's true that most players look at their cards too early and give off information that can be used against them.

I've always been nervous when playing live poker. Luckily I never ventured into anything higher than $2/$5 live or $100 or less buy-in live events unless it was a package won online. I'd be interested to see what some of our members have to say on this topic, especially those with a lot of live poker experience.

I agree with a lot of what Caro has to say but sometimes there is confusion. For example, despite what he says above there are times when players reach for chips early and then bet those chips.

Even I am always being nervous at the time of playing poker online. But, few threads I visited here and some others forums which has built some confidence into me and helped me to build my own playing strategies to overcome my fear.
