Default POFC: To adapt or not to adapt, that is the question

My friend Kye spends a fair amount of time grinding at a 6/12 full-kill Omaha game. He once told me that the secret to winning in that game could be summed up in one sentence: "Figure out how your opponents think about the game and exploit the weaknesses in their strategy."

Maybe that's genius, maybe that's oversimplification, but I started thinking about whether that idea had any relevance in POFC. Should you always play hands the same way against all opponents, or should you change your style based on your opponent? Should you play an overly conservative player who seldom fouls but seldom makes FL and who thinks POFC is mostly about building big hands in the back the same way you play a hyper-aggro player who makes FL a lot, but also fouls a lot and often overplays hands? Why?

Omaha has more psychology (bluffing, etc) than POFC so Omaha is more about playing the player than POFC.

However, I do play POFC differently depending on the opponent (just not to the same degree as Hold'em or Omaha).

I don't think I play the player, but I definitely play the board. Certain players make certain boards more likely, so it may look like I'm playing a certain way against a certain player.

For instance, on later draws, I may face a choice between a thin FL and likely foul or a safe play with basically no hope for FL. If my opponent is likely to foul, then I am more likely to opt for the safe play to pick up the sweep points. If my opponent is likely to hit FL, then I'll probably take the chance at a higher risk / higher reward line.
