    Default OMAHA QUESTION...

Starting to play some more omaha these days and am liking it alot....My only question is (for now, heheheh) what are good 'starting hands'? In hold 'em, of course AA, KK, QQ etc, etc., but with 4 hole cards u can start off with one hand and end up with a completely different one. Is there any hand-ranking associated w/ Omaha?
    Yeahhhh mannnnnn

For high hand only games, something like AAKK two suited (AcAsKcKs) or AAJT with JT suited (not one of the Ace suits tho). For omaha/8 (hi-lo), the best hand is AA23 two suited (AcAs2s3c) this hand gives you the best scooping possibilities. A pair is usally a weak hand in omaha, straights and flushes are the average winning hands and anytime the board pairs, expect a fullhouse more often than in holdem.

I've noticed how common freaking flushes and fullhouses are...i've found it tough for me to lay down trips, but when i see the flush draw, i normally take myself out of the hand.....the split pot omaha really confuses me, I like playing omaha-hi (and not the 'high' u see in my avatar......ok, well, maybe sometimes... 8) )

Omaha is a game of "The Nuts"..
if you dn't have the nuts someone else does.
