    Default Omaha ownage thread

    completely outplayed your opponents?
Flopped the nuts and got paid off by a bottom 2 pair?
Took down a big pot with a fake flush bluff or a freerolling bluff?

    Brag about it here!

I'll get this party started with this one from today's session against a total fish (VPIP=72). This is my 2nd big pot against him in a series of pots where I totally cleaned him up.

$600PLO8 shorthanded game with 160BB stacks.

    Stack sizes:
    HERO: $1036.95
    Button: $177.70
    SB: $955.40
    BB: $1166.40

    Pre-flop: (4 players) HERO is UTG with A 5 A 8
HERO raises to $18, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls.

AA58, once suited. 4 handed this is a monster. I raise from UTG to build the bot and buy the button, and achieve both aims.

    Flop: 4 3 9 ($54, 3 players)
SB bets $52, BB folds, HERO raises to $208, SB calls.

SB was a loose maniac fish. I notice we're playing quite deep stacked. I have 2nd nut low, AA, and a gutshot to a wheel. Against this player I don't believe his flop lead. With a real monster like A299 he would almost certainly check to me.

    Turn: 9 ($470, 2 players)
    SB checks, HERO checks.

When he bet-calls the flop, I put him on either a 9, or an A25, or an A29. Perhaps something like an A234. With deep stacks and a low perceived fold equity (I didn't think he'd fold very much on the turn that he would call with on the flop), and protection now against a hand like A23 from spiking a 2 pair to take high, I check behind. If I hit a non-heart low, I should be able to call on the river, and on some boards I may even be able to value bluff.

    River: A ($470, 2 players)
    SB bets $468, HERO raises all-in $810.95, SB calls all-in $261.4.
Uncalled bets: $81.55 returned to HERO.

With a strong high hand, one should generally raise the river. If my opponent is betting low, I will split, but in case he is betting an inferior high, I can scoop.

Notice the value that even the 8 gives me. With AA5T, I probably couldn't raise if the stacks were a lot deeper for fear of running into quads (yes it does happen). But with the 8, I can discount the prospect of quads because his 99 would also have to cover low to scoop me.

    Results:
    Final pot: $1928.8

villain has 4589 for the full house. Notice on every street villain put money in with the worst of it (I had 55% on the flop), and I astutely checked the turn when he was winning.

I raise the same here with any decent hand so standard

I really think he has a straight, but there is enough money behind so I see a turn

I have no idea what to do here, I can't see how putting money in now is good (he only has pot behind), so I just call

    ^^ very nice

Here's a more mundane hand. Moral:

    1. chasing high with made low on board = suicide
    2. middle/low straight hands = suicide

    BB: $116

    Pre-flop: (5 players) HERO is CO with Q 4 A 2
UTG folds, HERO raises to $12, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds.

Perfectly good hand in CO. Isolated the SB in position with a well sized pot (remember you can generally bet 12x the pre-flop pot if you pot 3 streets, so the $28 almost perfectly activates my 418 stack.

    Flop: 6 7 8 ($28, 2 players)
SB checks, HERO bets $20, SB calls.

    made low + 2ndCFP + flush draw.
    time to build the pot.

SB bets $66, HERO raises to $132, SB raises to $462, HERO calls all-in $254.6.

    keep them coming guys!

    I'll make this one semi-instructive

here's why a hand like A29Q unsuited is just really not very strong (tell me, what kind of flop are you trying to hit, short of a full house? I guess something like 47Q, but even that is not super strong.

note his equity is even less than 25% because I have 4 outs to scoop

    Call me Rolf Slotboom

Villain (same one in both hands, one orbit apart) is laggy and bad. I didn't know this until after hand 1, but after hand 2 there was no doubt, lol.

BTW I started with $20 because I was short stack ninja-ing some 100NL tables and had forgotten that I had gone on the PLO list. First hand was my 2nd at the table, I was going to buy in full on the button if I didn't double up.

PS- converters all seem to hate Crypto, it seems to randomly add players and drop players from the game. I have tried to clean them up but the action may be off. All that matters is the players' hands and the board, lol.

Ah it was 3 handed. I assumed it was 6max and folded to him on the button. Not a huge difference I guess. Still, hands like that are quite junky and wont hit many flops. The K6/K7/J6 combos are pretty useless, which is half our hand.

3 handed i don't think you should fold your button more than 10% of the time, and this certainly isn't a bottom 10% hand

I like to raise it and build the pot up a little, perhaps get it heads up. That way my positional advantage is greatest. Think If I make the pot 7BB going into the flop and then I bet 5BB on the flop... it's going to cost you potentially 5+17+50 BB to get to get to showdown, so that's seven tenths of your stack. Out of position too. I would need a pretty good hand to take a stand, for sure

I limped because villain showed willingness to raise and reraise liberally.
    Maniatically.

I really wanted to see that flop cheaply. I thought 3-handed and on the button my hand was pretty good. But then again, I'm a n00b, so I don't know anything.

CO is huge holdem fish. Agressive pre, overvalues TP, etc. I took $6 off him a couple hands prior and probably up almost $15 (150BB) from him to this point.

I called flop because he likes to 1/2 pot cbet and give up.

This table was awesome. People were actually raising & 3betting pre and doing it very poorly because 3-4 people called every time, then stacking off with top 2 or worse

Note, big stack in both hands is same villain. I had PSB flop and turn and checked behind river multiple times with him with top 2, FTW (def a little weak, I could have value bet light (er?)).
