Mini-blinds

I heard my friend talking about a site (possibly Ultimate Bet, but I don't remember), that offers a limit of $4-$8, with blinds $1-$2. He suggested this benefits tight play, but I drastically disagree. If you are a tight player, theoretically, other players' loose preflop calls/mistakes makes up a larger portion of your profit. With that said, why cut preflop betting in half when you only play the best hands? I think that it benefits loose play, as it is cheaper to enter the pot with mediocre hands.

What do you think? Do mini-blinds benefit loose or tight play? I am with loose.

personally I think it would benefit tight play due to the fact that less people would be randomly calling a raise from the blind, since the sb would have to post $7 and the bb $6 they might think twice about playing the hand, also it helps tight players in a since it's easier to get away from a hand in the blinds given they are relatively small compared to the $8bb... this is my thoughts at least...

More money goes in post-flop, so it becomes almost a baby big bet game.

Offsuit hands other than AK/AQ go way down in value. Blind stealing becomes silly. Pairs become monsters and s00ted connectors gain a bunch in implied odds.

I've seen min-blind 4/8 online at Ultimate Bet. B&M at Mandalay Bay (1/2 Kill) and Sahara. Actually, the Sahara game is spread limit 4/8 with a single $2 blind. GREAT game when it's going, was the first really good game I found on my Vegas trip.

UTGish:
I wonder if it's ever correct to raise UTG against aware players. Although the right texture of fish might make you want to raise. I almost want to limp AA/KK/QQ/AK to make life difficult for anyone that wants to isolate me. Consider that if I limp 44 and AT isolates he's getting the best of it.
AJo/KQ : Muck
limp any pocket pair
limp AK/AQ (?)
limp tens or better s00ted

MP:
Play AJ/KQ
Don't play AT/QJ/KJ

LP:
Play AT/QJ/KJ
Don't play KT/QT/JT

CO/Button:
Sooted connectors and 1-2 gappers ought to be very profitable for a min-bet

Finally, I'd play my blinds a lot less.

I played some 4/8 mini at UB and you like fnord said, bigger pairs go up in value, blind play is less critial, and i limp a lot of suited stuff. This is a game with a LOT of limping and then a bigger hand coming in to try and force out drawing hands.
