    Default ISPT Wembley Stadium 2013

Is anyone intending to play in this "live" tournament.

    Concept | ISPT

They claim to have over 3000 people already registered but I just cannot reconcile this concept to the extent that I would even think about it.

You turn up at Wembley with your laptop and sit in the stand for a buy in of 600 Euros (1 rebuy and add on available at same price) and play online to try and win your way to the final stages which are played as live poker on the Wembley pitch.

I would be interested to hear if anyone intends playing and also thoughts from other members on the concept.

Makes sense to me. Not the greatest idea, but points for creativity. I think this will fare better than the "live Zoom poker" event that PokerStars is trying to run at the 2013 PCA in January.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

FWIW, this seems to be a massive amount of marketing and not much substance from what I can tell. The number of "registered players" is actually the number of people who have subscribed to the marketing list. They previously listed a massive guarantee (think it was €20m or €30m) & said it had been escrowed, then claimed it applied to the sides as well as the main, then all mention of the guarantee was scrubbed from the website overnight.

The Wembly pitch has no covering, so they're going to have erect tents in case of wind/rain. You're making people pay €600 to sit in the cold and play poker on their own laptop, and any qualifiers aren't going to be able to afford to rebuy/addon. For some reason the minimum age is 21, despite the legal age in the UK being 18. French players 18 or over can which is also odd.

Pretty sure the rake on the direct buyin is €500-€1k too but can't find anything on the site about it

Thanks for the great feedback James. As I said above I cannot reconcile this concept and from what you have said I cannot see how they are going to get decent numbers.

It's hard to sum up how much of a laughing stock this tournament is, but I present one thing which comes close:
