Default AK getting into unusual circumstances

Man guys I don't know if I just played a player or have been played by a player. I came out on top but I want to know how you would of handled it. All opinions wanted. Oddly enough I was talking about something very similar to this in the previous post. Well same hand at least.

Well I'm sitting at the NL 50 table at royal vegas and post newb blind - fold a few times - and get AKo. I raise it 3.50 - fold out some little bets - one caller - flop is 779 - i bet 2 dollars and take it down.

2 hands later - what do I get - AK again. Im talking to my friend on AIM - who isnt playing just watching - and am like shit I hope this one doesnt screw me.

I bet 3.50 preflop - 4 callers - this is insane and highly unusual for royal vegas by the way. Anyway I am like oh shit there has to be some great ass shit in there. Not sure if Im dominated but im guessing I am at least tied.

flop AQ8 - Im checked to and bet 2 dollars thinking damn this could cost me a lot with the chance of QQ AQ being fairly high I thought with the preflop action. Fold out all but the very exact same guy that I faced 1 on 1 2 hands ago. He calls and Im thinking its too keep me honest but not really sure.

turn 8 - which brings the 3rd diamond. Now I am really curious what this dude has. I probably did something stupid I only bet 1 showing obvious weakness. He raises me 5 and Im thinking shit that dude has AQ now for sure or possibly a flush - trips?? basically I see me as being beatin at this point since I cant see the 8 helping him any other way than the suit. I let the time run to 1 second and call the 5 bucks the pot is so big I had too make the extra 4 - at least I think I did.

    board so far AQ88

5th st - A - yeah buddy - the miracle 5th st ace that actually helps me and doesnt hurt me. Now Im thinking im the luckiest man on earth and now have Aces full but still think he may have AQ and have me beat. Well I bet 3 and he just calls and I take it down. NICE . Would you have bet 3 or more?????? I just wasnt sure on this one. I had AQ as a serious threat once he raised me 5 after my weak 1 dollar bet. What would you have put him on in this hand?

I asked him later and he said he had a flush but didnt show so Im not really sure if he actually did. Im guessing so though.

I would have bet harder on the flop because everyone checked to you showing weakness or slowplaying. A bet of $5 would have bought you more information or took down the pot right there and hopefully force out that flush draw. If your big bet got called then I would probably slow it down.

You did not have the nuts so the river bet was fine. You bet a callable amount w/ a very good hand (but not the nuts). Had you bet more you may have been trapped as you feared, or you would have folded out the weaker hand and lose that last small bet.

Well actually I was thinking about this and I told you the wrong things a little. When I said it was checked to me I should of said one person checked to me and I was next so there were still 3 people to act behind me.

Also on the end when I said he called 3 he really raised me 15 and I should of rereaised him all in I guess. I was thinking about it and the pot was like close to 60 dollars after rake and I thought he had raised me 15 but I had just forgot.

It sucks royal vegas doesnt have any request hand history stuff so you have to rely completely on memory.
