With the past two Sundays falling on Christmas and New Years, it was easy to see why online tournament attendance had taken a bit of a dip. However, even the NFL playoffs this past Sunday could not keep players away from the Sunday majors. Tournament attendance was up across the board, back to numbers only seen before online poker’s Black Friday on April 15th. The Sunday Million surpassed the $1,500,000 mark, the Warm-Up nearly hit $750k, and the Party Poker $200k came within shouting distance of the $300,000 mark.
Even the live poker scene saw a boost as the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure got underway in the Bahamas. The high-roller event was won by Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, who just last year revealed his identity at the new year event.
