The Sunday Million was taken over by PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker yesterday, and it proved to be a great success.  Over 11,000 players entered the $200+$15 NL Freeze-Out creating a massive $2,226,200 prize pool with over $300,000 guaranteed for first place.

The final table started with three players holding more than 11,000,000 chips, including “ternoplayer”, “maxisou”, and “r&g2007”:

Those three, along with “micha88” made up the final four, all of whom were guaranteed over $111,000! First to go was r&g2007 when he re-shoved over a button raise, only to run into a big hand:

Taking third place was micha88, who was in quite the battle for 2nd, as he and ternoplayer were well behind in chips compared to maxisou. The chip-leader folded the button, which gave ternoplayer an opportunity to shove from the SB. Micha88 found a strong enough hand to call, but unfortunately for him he was on the wrong enough of a tough beat, busting in 3rd place for just over $155,000:

Seat 2: ternoplayer (12315465 in chips)
Seat 7: maxisou (43339535 in chips)

However, his lead evaporated quickly, and he eventually found himself a 2:1 underdog when both players flopped a pair:

Ternoplayer’s top-pair was good on the flop, however the turn made maxisou two-pair, but the river made ternoplayer a better two-pair! A crazy final hand indeed. In the end ternoplayer took down the title and over $303,000 in prize money. Congratulations goes to all the final table participants and the 1,620 players who made the money in event #9!
