Event 11 of the Spring Championship of Online Poker, known as SCOOP, has concluded.  This special Mixed-Hold’em 6max Event alternated between Limit Hold’em and No-Limit Hold’em on each blind/level change.  For those unaware, the SCOOP is a special series which offers three different buy-in levels for each event.  Event 11 buy-ins were $33, $320, and a $3150 high-roller event with respective guarantees of  $50k, $300k, and $800k.  The two lower buy-in events were able to reach their guarantees while the $3150 event missed by nearly $60,000.

The $33 buy-in event was full of relative unknowns making the final table except for “Feb19” a high-stake tournament grinder with a $46,074 cash to his name. During 3-handed play stack-sizes become quite even, prompting a chop.  The players had to leave $1,000 behind to play for and a SCOOP watch for the winner. here were the numbers:

$17,016.83 – golferen50
$15,918.46 – rajosa
$16,792.33 – frankyboy67

Frankyboy67 was the first to when his AKo failed to improve against golferen50’s pocket Ten’s on the first hand after the chop.  Going into heads-up play golferen50 had more than a 2:1 chip-lead over rajosa and took control during the Limit Hold’em round, winning a few big pots in a row to take a commanding chip lead. Rajosa made a nice comeback but could not survive during the next Limit round, eventually busting when his JTo could not improve against QTs:

The high-stakes event, the $3150 buy-in, provided an excellent final table including two of the best tournament professionals in the world.  Sitting next to each other in seat 1 and 6 were “gboro780” and “Andy McLEOD”. Gboro780 is currently ranked first in online tournaments for 2009 after winning FTOPS event #10 for over $275,000 and finishing second in the $1M guarantee for over $126,000.  McLEODhas numerous big scores to his name including a $101,546 cash in the Sunday Warm-Up last December and a victory in the WCOOP Event #16 for over $98,000.  Gboro780 came in with great chip position and immediately took control having more than half the chips in play 5-handed.  Luck was with gboro as he busted LuckyLady519 on a bit of a bad beat in 5th place:
