PokerStars has recently announced their newest tournament series, the Regional Championships of Online Poker or RCOOP.
Following in the footsteps of its wildly successful predecessors, the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), the RCOOP is a series of 11 tournaments, all with guaranteed prize pools, including a Main Event. Unlike its predecessors, though, the RCOOP is exclusive to players living in select regions. Stars will have a series for each of the 13 different regions (USA, Canada, Germanics, Benelux, Nordics, Baltics, UK & Ireland, Russian Open, Central & Eastern Europe, Asia, Iberia, Latin America and Mediterranean) all running at different dates from November to February.
This new series will have various buy-ins to give more players the chance to participate and it will give players the opportunity to compete against others from their respective regions for glory, bragging rights and, of course, boatloads of money! You can also try to win your way into a tournament through one the many satellites, some of which are just a few dollars.
American players seem to be the biggest winners from the announcement of this new series. The USACOOP, which runs from November 21-28, boasts a staggering $3,275,000 prize pool! The series also has games for all players, including Hold ’em , Omaha, HORSE and 7-Card Stud.
