PokerStars just keeps putting their size on display to the rest of the online poker world.  In the past few months, PokerStars has been breaking records (usually their own) at an incredible clip.  In December, they broke the record for most ever players online at one time, as well as largest online tournament field ever.  Then, they recently dealt out their 25 billionth hand.  And now, they’ve signed up their 20 millionth player!

To put that in perspective, that about the same as if every single person in not one, but three of America’s largest cities, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, all had an account to play poker at PokerStars.  It is hard to really imagine how many people that is, but let’s just say it’s an incredible milestone for PokerStars and the online industry.

The lucky number 20,000,000 was a Slovakian who uses the screen name “piposko”.  For being lucky enough to sign up at just the right moment, PokerStars gave him a $215 tournament ticket to use however he likes.

PokerStars isn’t about to rest on their laurels, however.  They’ve already announced an all new tournament series, the Spring Championship of Online Poker, SCOOP.  Beginning April 2nd, SCOOP is sure to attract even more players to what is already the world’s largest online poker room.  They have also recently made changes to their VIP program, in an attempt to make it even better for more players.  There’s little doubt that once SCOOP is finished they will be coming out with even more great promotions… even though they may break their own records in the process.
