Another day gone by, and another great event in the books! This time it was the 2009 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) event #24, $500+$30 USD Hold’em No Limit Heads-Up.  1564 hopefuls showed up for a night of extremely deepstacked poker, to determine once and for all who is the best NLHE HU player. All the biggest names in the game currently showed up, including 20 Buck Spin, our own Nutsinho, David “Chino23” Rheem, skilled_sox, Greg “FossilMan” Raymer, Joe Hachem, THE__D__RY, paulgees81, Victor Ramdin, RasZi, TorontoToro, Chris “Money800” Moneymaker, and many more! This event’s prize pool was $1,000,000, and only 256 places would be paid. Needless to say, a lot of money was to be made tonight, not to mention the prestige that comes with being a winner of a WCOOP event, not to mention one as tough as Event #24.
Among many notables, Olivier “Adonis112” Busquet, skilled_sox, and Sorel “zangbezan24” Mizzi, all had cashes in this event, and would prove to do the same in the next event, Event #27 $25,500 NLHE HU.
Other notables were Barry Greenstein, our own Johan “busto_soon” Van Til, perrenial SNE Jorj95, and feared HU player JERRRY.
Hand coverage begins with 8 remaining.

Dokosoko gets to know the hard way, that when you need the flush to hit, it just won’t. straights work that way too.

4tha, imashokU puts his opponent on a probable flush draw and trusts his gut. Too bad he was wrong:

Results:
JakusKhan had 10, 2 (high card, King).
MyRabbiFoo had K, 8 (two pair, Kings and eights).

JakusKhan couldn’t chase the rabbit with enough speed, and got left in the way. After the deal, he got $120,000 for his efforts on such an untlra long final table. How long? It took about four hours to go from 8 players down to 4. Ridiculous. Anyway, MyRabbiFoo emerged victorious after this epic duel, and has $140,000 to show for it. Don’t spend it all in one place!
