The fledgling science of “Pseudo-Psycho Interactive Pokernomics” finally has some data for us to work with. Yesterday, Viktor Blom’s day was certainly decisive, and we’ll cover that in more depth a little later.

This data will allow the new Scientific Pokernomic Unversity Reliant Taskforce (SPURT), to gain research funding to investigate the impact of the written word on a poker player’s “luck” and how offering advice can effect the win line of a high class poker player.

We’re hoping we can get SPURT all over this, and online poker may be covered in a new way going forward.

In the real world, Viktor was obviously in the mood to work yesterday, and work he did. For 14 hours, and 2363 hands, over 3 different games, and more opponents than I can easily count. Work ethic isn’t really an issue for the great Isildur1.

He started out playing PLO, and spent over half his working day on PLO tables ranging from $50/$100 to $200/$400. With both 6-Max and heads up in the mix, Blom was aiming to milk as much as he could from the games he could find.

Over the day, Viktor earned a very nice $184,840 from these PLO tables, and we have some of the 6-Max action for in the video below:

In true Isildur1 style, Viktor wasn’t afraid to play the big names either, and sat down at heads up tables against Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. With these two mega stars of online poker, we just had to grab some of the action, and we bring it to you in glorious YouTube colour.

PLO wasn’t the only game to improve Viktor’s win rate yesterday, 2-7TD was also being kind, and again, both 6-Max and heads up games featured. Over 796 hands, Viktor earned an impressive $276,280, and took nearly $150k of that from online legend Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond. We caught some of the action, and again, through the power of YouTube we bring you some of the action.

So far the day had been going well for Viktor, and when he sat down at a $2k/$4k heads up FLO8 table, the trend continued. Against firstly “cottonseed1” and than against “SallyWoo” Blom played a mere 151 hands of FLO8. He also earned $121,961 from two of the best FLO8 players in the world.

In short, it was a good day to be Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, with $583,081 profit to be added to his yearly graph, taking his yearly figure to $2,775,329 to the good.

I’ve never seen work ethic as an issue for Viktor, and after the losses earlier this week, it was nice to see Viktor play out a full day online, and not to be chasing losses.

This is the kind of day Viktor should be hoping for. He was obviously playing very well, the fact he didn’t have a losing game is a good indication, and he didn’t get put in the position of trying to chase losses when he came up against another player with an edge over him. Not that I’m saying he picked easy opponents, Phil Galfond and Ziigmund are far from fish, but neither of them has an edge over Viktor at the games they were playing. Galfond is still relatively new to 2-7TD, and Ziigmund was playing at no better than the same level as Viktor. Compare that to when Blom has been playing Ben “bttech86” Tollerene recently, who, on a some days, has shown he has a big edge over the Swede. On other days, it fairly obvious that Viktor is the one with the edge in that matchup, and Blom needs to learn how to determine this, and then learn to stop playing in games where he is an underdog.
