FTOPS X event #19, a $216 NL Hold’em event with $400k guaranteed, ran today. It was hosted by Kelly Kim who is fresh off his 8th place finish at the WSOP main event. With 2526 entries, the tournament far exceeded its guarantee, topping out at just over $500k. Almost 30 of Full Tilt’s red pros showed up for the event and one of them (Aaron Bartley, who is having a great series) was at the top of the leader board right at the start. He, however, would slowly slide down and finish out of the money. The host of the event was also near the top for a while before going out in 516th place. Five of the red pros would make the money, with S Gromenkova finishing the highest in 70th place.
Going into the money it was zenbj123 who was in first. Imabigkidnow, who took down event #14, was close behind in 2nd. Zenbj123 made it to the final two tables but busted out in 17th place. The final table was one of unfamiliar faces this time, with half of the players showing little to no profit in Full Tilt tournaments before. In the end, EndlessAmbition beat out FantaKorn for first prize, taking home slightly over $100k. That money should make a big impact as, before the tournament began, EndlessAmbition only had $14k in prizes on Full Tilt this year. FantaKorn couldn’t have been too upset though, as his second place finish netted him $66k.
