The Everleaf Gaming corporation has come under fire from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta (LGA). The governing group has issued sanctions against the poker operator, in light of certain anomalies in their recent corporate operations.

The LGA’s entire statement on the matter (as made available on their website) came as follows:

“The LGA Enforcement Unit issued sanctions against Everleaf Gaming Ltd following an investigation which emerged with a number of irregularities in their operation. Everleaf Gaming is being monitored closely to ensure its operation respects Maltese law.”

According to PokerNews, Eveleaf operates more than 100 different skins on their poker network. The most popular of these are LuvinPoker, TimelessPoker, and LandSharkPoker. Until recently, all had been available to users in the U.S.

As former Everleaf players may remember, the company beat a quick retreat from American soil after being confronted by the nation’s Department of Homeland Security. A few weeks removed from the cease and desist order, Everleaf released a statement confirming that funds from one of their payment processors had been seized by U.S. authorities.

In view of the above,” they said at the time, “Everleaf will no longer accept U.S. players. Nonetheless, Everleaf reiterates and wants to reassure all the effected players that all the funds will be refunded in full and the effected parties will be contacted in a short while accordingly.”

For the record, that statement went out in the final week of February. Since then, there has been no mention of any American players being issued a refund check. Could this have done something to raise the ire of the LGA? Though there is no concrete evidence to support this, the timing of these events is enough to raise questions.
