Following on from the very successful addition of the Berlin Cup at the German stop, PokerStars are adding a new Event to the Poker festival in Monte Carlo for the EPT Grand Final.

The Monaco Cup will be a €1100 buy in event and will be event #26 of the 50 being offered. With a guaranteed prize pool of €500,000, it’s certainly going to attract the big names, and will be a warm up for the EPT Main Event.

“This is the first time that we have included an event of this nature in the schedule for the EPT Grand Final.” said PokerStars’ Head of Live Poker operations, Neil Johnson,  “This event will feature three Day 1s and will give players the opportunity to re-enter on Day 1B and Day 1C.  With a great structure and three different chances at the coveted first prize, everyone will get their shot at a piece of the first-ever €500,000 Monaco Cup.”

The Monaco Cup will run between the 11th and 15th of May, but the festival is planned to run from the 6th to the 15th. This will mean there will be 11 days full of high quality poker, and I heard today, we are expecting 10 days of Live Streaming action as well.

This follows the report we made on the 19th about the EPT operating all of the cash games at the Grand Final. It looks like they are going all out, and are planning to make the Monte Carlo EPT the best yet.
