Slovakian native Dag Palovic has been selected as the newest member of Team PokerStars, according to a recent company blog.

Most fans will remember Palovic from his appearances during the past two World Series of Poker Main Events. In 2009, the fledgling pro managed to land in 120th place. After another year of practice, he pushed even further into the money before suffering an elimination in 37th. Now, with nearly $750,000 in live tournament winnings already to his credit, Palovic joins one of the most prestigious clubs in the poker world.

“It is a great opportunity to play as a Team Pro member of the largest online poker site in the world,” he says. “I hope to improve my results in the future to be really a good and visible member of the team.”

Prior to taking on the role of a full time poker player, Palovic made his living as a popular radio and television personality. His considerable experience behind the mic has brought him up close with some of music’s biggest names, including Jamiroquai and Lenny Kravitz. His primary passion soon changed, however, when a friend introduced him to the world of poker. Palovic’s torrid hunger for the game soon yielded results, earning him the attention of several industry sites.

In the end, PokerStars proved to be the best fit for him. The company, for their part, is excited to bring him aboard.

“Now,” read a recent PokerStars blog, “it’s time for Palovic to carry the big red spade across the world as a member of Team Pro.”
