Bodog has confirmed that it will lay off several employees in their offices in the United Kingdom. Though no specific number has been announced, it has been stated that none of the positions are “business facing.”

“In the UK,” a company insider told iGaming business, “we have undertaken a long period of market analysis and we are now starting to adapt our product to fall in-line with those findings. We feel we now have a better understanding of what the UK customer wants and the focus now is on re-structuring our business to be better placed to put that information into practice.”

The soon-to-be laid off individuals can take heart, however, as several former Bodog employees have gone on to enjoy prominent positions with other online gaming companies. One such individual is AJ Thompson, who now finds himself employed by B3W, a privately owned software development company. Prior to this engagement, Thompson had served as the Chief Technology Officer for Bodog Europe. He’s been acting as an adviser for the Malta-based firm for the last few months, and now officially joins them as a consultant. His role, the company says, will be to plan and put into practice the group’s future development plans.

“I had some great adventures in my last role,” he said, “and hope that I can bring some of my Bodog experience to help guide B3W down an interesting path.”
