Tournament action is getting as hot as it comes this month, as thousands of internet poker players from every corner of the earth meet at Bovada Poker to do battle in FTOPS XIX. There are a huge range of events to choose from, but for the massive crowd of players who turned up on Sunday, it was event 24 that held the most appeal. It was AD_84 who took down the tournament after a three-way chop was agreed upon at the final table.

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series, known by its abbreviated name FTOPS, is a series of poker tournaments which are played online at Bovada roughly once every three months. These tournaments also offer very generous guaranteed prize pools and draw huge crowds of hopeful players. Those of you on a small budget will be please to hear about MiniFTOPS, which takes place shortly after each FTOPS, offering the same range of tournaments but with only one tenth the tournament buy-in cost.

Event 25 drew far and away the biggest crowd we’ve seen so far during FTOPS XIX, with 11,343 entrants turning up to compete. Note that the word entrant here is very different to the word player, as this was one of Full Tilt’s new innovative Multi-Entry tournaments. Players can enter as many times as there are tables running, and simultaneously play a different stack on each table, thus greatly improving their chances to win. The event had $1.5 Million guaranteed, which turned out to be a very conservative estimate of how successful Multi-entry FTOPS events were going to be, as the total prize pool in actuality reached a staggering $3.4 Million.

With such an insane amount of money up for grabs and a tournament which lasted nearly seventeen hours, it’s very understandable that the final three players left decided to agree on a three-way chop. AD_84, NovaSky and O0Brian0O all secured over $330,000 each, with NovaSky coming away with the biggest piece of the pie at $458,550. As the three battled it out for the FTOPS jersey it was not to be NovaSky who won, however, but rather AD_84 who took the remaining prize money and the first place prize. You never can be sure how things are going to end up in this game, but you can be sure nobody’s walking away a pauper!
