Definition
A new deck of cards in live poker. By rule, a new setup must be put in play if a card is damaged or marked. Casinos and card clubs generally permit players to call for setups at specified intervals as well; many poker players believe that this privilege is abused by superstitious players who blame the deck for bad luck or poor play.
Example
In the Commerce Casino, a new setup may be called for if a damaged or marked card is discovered, as well as once an hour for any reason or no reason.
