Carl Carlson (known online as givememyleg) has been playing poker since 2004, starting after the Moneymaker boom. Without many options to play poker around his hometown, he quickly turned to online poker and started grinding out profit playing small stakes on Party Poker. Carl found FTR in November of 2005, which lead him to start bonus whoring and discussing strategy within the forum. For the next few years, he would continue to grind poker off and on, always turning a profit up to $200 NL. In 2009, Carl started focusing more of his efforts into the business side of the industry and becoming more involved behind the scenes at FTR. Carl still plays poker as a hobby and is involved in the day to day efforts at Flop Turn River. Outside of poker, Carl is happily married, has a 7 month old son and a high maintenance cat.

The FTOPS IX is now officially over with the conclusion of the main event.  In total, 25 events were played with buy-ins ranging from $109 up to $2620, and more than $15 million guaranteed.  However, I think Full Tilt went a little too high on most of their...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-9-Event-13

Everyone was laughing at event 13 of the FTOPS 9, mainly because the game being played was HA (okay bad jokes over).  Just what is HA?  For those who don’t know, HA is a mixed game which is half PL Hold’em and half PL Omaha.  In total, 913 players paid the...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-9-Event-11

Event 11 of the FTOPS 9 was the game of limit hold’em.  Although limit hold’em doesn’t attract as many fish since they can’t just push all-in, Full Tilt offered a $200,000 guarantee for the $216 buy-in.  Well, with only 932 players registered,...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-9-Event-3

Event 3 of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series 9 was the first of its kind.  It was the first ever 4x shootout that the series has ever seen, but with a twist because it was also shorthanded.  Not quite knowing what to expect, Full Tilt gave the $216 buy-in a $250,000...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-8-Event-19

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series continued with event 19, which was a $216 buy-in and the name of the game was no-limit hold’em. The $200 no-limit tournaments online today are the standard for most high stake players, so I expected this event to crush the...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-8-Event-10

Event 10 of the FTOPS 8 was the third pot-limit Omaha tournament on the schedule. However, this was the first one that was hi/lo, aka Omaha 8 or better. This was one of the smaller guarantees, with a $200 + $16 buy-in with the prize pool being at least $200,000. The...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-8-Event-9

The FTOPS 8 continued with event 9 and it was a big one, $322 no-limit hold’em. This took place of their usual Sunday $750k and had a guaranteed prize pool of $1,500,000; making it at least double the standard. It was hosted by Gus Hansen, who is one of the most...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-7-Event-17

Event 17 in the FTOPS 7 was the biggest and perhaps most anticipated event for the series. It is definitely the most unique to the series and no other online site has ever ran anything like it before. Why? Well, not only is the buy-in huge for the online world at...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-7-Event-16

Event 16 of the FTOPS VII took place on February 15th at 21:00 and the name of the game was Stud. This was the first and only stud event of the series (not counting Razz), and since it is a dying game, nothing too much was expected. It was $215 buy-in with $100,000...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-7-Event-8

Event 8 of the FTOPS VII was a unique twist on the game. It was $120 + $9 no-limit hold’em 6-max knockout. What this means is that $100 of everyone’s buyin goes to the prize pool, and everyone also has a $20 bounty on their head. Every person you happen to...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-7-Event-9

So far, every event held in the FTOPS VII has broken all the guarantees and expectations. With $20 million guaranteed total, I was expecting to see some overlays but if the series keeps running the way that is has been, that will not be the case. It also was not the...

Full-Tilt-Poker-FTOPS-7-Event-1

The FTOPS VII Series kicked off Wednesday February 6th at 21:00 ET and what a better game to start with? Of course it was no-limit hold’em, with a $200 + $16 buy-in which seems to be the standard online high stakes limit for multi-table tournaments. As with...
