NUTS: Virgin Poker's software is very simple and runs very well on any computer. The rewards system (V*POINTS) can be traded in for a wide range of Virgin products (Virgin experiences, Virgin Air frequent flier miles, etc.). The 200% bonus makes it easy for players of modest bankrolls to easily triple it.
-
BEATS: Boss Media, the poker network Virgin Poker is part of, does not have many players. This means that the high-stakes games rarely take off. Additionally, the abundance of bad beat tables may be a turn-off to some of the more experienced players.

Virgin Poker.com Overview
Virgin Poker is part of the Boss Poker network. It is important to note that due to the current legislation in the United States they do not accept US customers.
At Virgin Poker, you will find a merger of a poker strategy site with a poker room. They have several articles on how to play the different games on offer, video tutorials and even a live poker school, which is run three nights a week. While playing at the school a resident pro will give you tips on how to improve your game and may even point out some leaks you had no idea about.
At Virgin Poker you will find the following games: Limit, Pot-limit, and No-limit Hold’em; Limit, Pot-limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo; 7 Card Stud; 5 Card Stud; and 5 Card Draw. As with almost every poker room today, you will find most of the people playing No-limit Hold’em. The number of Omaha and Stud games that are actually being played can be scant, and they are only at the smaller stakes. That's not to say things won’t change. As for No-limit Hold’em, there is uaually a table running for every limit, high and low.
Virgin Poker’s Sit & Go tournaments have a much higher player base than most other sites today. It is not surprising to see over 200 running at any given time. There is always a wide variety of stakes in action. However, most of the Sit & Gos in play are for buy-ins less than €50 + €5. Few of the higher stakes games were running but most were still awaiting players to register. If you're dedicated to higher stakes, you will probably have to wait a while.
Virgin Poker does MTTs pleasantly as well. The buy-ins you will find offered range from €0 to €100 on a daily basis, so whatever the size of your bankroll is (and as we know nowadays, size DOES matter sometimes) you can expect to find a game just for you. Each Sunday, Virgin Poker has a €5,000 GTD Head Hunter with a €20+2 buy-in. Re-buy events, guaranteed events and freerolls and pennystakes tourneys are equally well represented as well.
Virgin Poker you will award you ‘V*Points’ when playing at real money games. For every raked hand you play or tournament fee you pay, V*Points are earned. The higher the stakes you play, the more you will earn. Their site has a chart of approximately how many VPs you can earn in a month at any given limit, for example: If you were to play five single table tournaments per day, with a €50 buy-in, you could earn 2,190 V*Points per month.
V*Points can be redeemed in a variety of ways. One V*Point is equal to either 1 pence or 1 Flying Club Mile. This way you can redeem your points for either cash or miles to travel. You can also choose to donate a matched contribution to Virgin Unite or use your points to get a Virgin Experience, which are awesome adventure or pampering packages. V*Points can be exchanged for Virgin Vouchers which can then be used to purchase items at the Virgin Megastore. Virgin Vouchers are only used for the currency of pounds sterling. Virgin Unite, an independent charitable branch of Virgin, is for the benevolent player. Virgin will match your donation pence for pence. A Virgin Experience can be anything from a romantic weekend for two or football tickets.
All in all, Virgin Poker offers a little something for everybody. There is good to excellent Sit-n-Go action including Heads-up and 6-max games, great regular multi-table tournament action at various buy-ins up to €100+ levels, and tons of easy to use funding options. A very healthy sign-up bonus and tons more of frequent promotions for its regular players, steady lowstakes to midtsakes traffic including tables and accounts in different currency possibilities and an excellent software interface for you to take part in the action also add to the many reasons to play here. You can do no wrong in choosing Virgin Poker. All you now have to do is sign up using our links, fund your account, and start partaking in this bonanza!
Virgin Poker.com Software Interface/Usability
Virgin Poker's lobby is nicely organized, making it extremely easy to find the game you are looking for. Cash game tables at Virgin Poker offer its users the chance to play in any of three different currencies, which include the Pound, the Euro and the Dollar. This means that for example you will see $1 - $2 tables running alongside of €1 - €2 and £1 - £2 games, all coexisting peacefully in the Virgin Poker's software. The choice of currency that you play with (minimizing your Currency Exchange variance for the times the Euro plummets or the Pound rises incredibly) is entirely yours.
The play here seemed much slower than other poker rooms. Even after all the action is complete, there seems to be a long pause before a new hand is dealt. Players are given much too long to click the muck or show buttons, which can really hold up the game. Other options besides mucking or showing your cards are viewing the screen in full or mini mode, what language you use, using a two or four color deck, and sound effects. Unfortunately, the room is not compatible with Mac, only PC.
Virgin Poker does have instant hand histories available, however they are not easy to find. For whatever reason, hand history options are located under the “Live Help” tab at the table. It takes a while to notice this. Instead, there should be a unique tab to review hand histories. While viewing them you can choose a text or picture format for every hand played.
Virgin Poker Room Action
The number of players you can expect to find online at Virgin Poker at any given time hovers around 3500 or so. Peak hours you may find considerably more, some days approaching 10,000 mark. As mentioned, Virgin Poker would be a great site to expand your game and increase your skill.
One thing that brings more people to Virgin Poker is playing in different currencies besides just USD or EUR. This eliminates unnecessary exchange rate conversion charges when depositing in your local currency.
Whether you’re a ring, Sit and Go, or tournament player, you should be able to find a game at Virgin Poker.
Virgin Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
Expect an average number of fish at Virgin Poker. You will always be able to notice 2-3 whales at every table you sit down at, but there are also a few solid multi-tablers at various limits. Since Virgin Poker does not allow US players to play, the number of fish will go down compared to sites that do. However, don’t be afraid. With a basic strategy you will be able to beat these games.
VirginPoker.com Bonus and Promotions
See our Virgin Poker Bonus page for details on clearing your bonus.
Virgin Poker now has a 200% up to €600 first deposit bonus. Simply use the links on this page and enter the Virgin Poker Promotion Code FTR100 when creating your new account. To claim your €600 bonus, you have to create a new account and be a first time depositor. The bonus is to be released in increments of €10 for every €50 that is paid in rake. You can track the progress of your bonus by clicking on the 'Bonus Information' tab. If you wished to clear the entire bonus, you would have to pay a whopping €3000 in rake, which can be pretty difficult at low stakes. Keep in mind that you have 60 days to incrementally clear the bonus.
In addition to a handsome bonus, Virgin Poker will award you with V*Points. V*Points are loyalty points accumulated by playing Virgin Poker, Virgin Casino, or Virgin Bingo. You can use your V*Points for airfare, vacations, charity, or you can convert them to cash! Cash prizes will be awarded via the VRace each month to players who accumulate the most V*Points.
Virgin Poker has not forgotten about the SNG player! Virgin Poker offers the Sit N Go player an opportunity to win big money by participating in Jackpot Sit N Go’s. All you have to do is register in any of the €10 + €2 “JACKPOT” Sit & Go's, and win 6 times in a row. Score six wins in a row and you will win the €10,000 top prize. Didn’t quite win all six? There are also €200 consolation prizes for players who finish in the top two places in 6 “JACKPOT” Sit & Go's in a row.
Virgin Poker also has a special promotion for multi table specialists called 'Beat the Bubble". When you finish on the bubble in any of Virgin Poker's guaranteed tournaments, you can request your buy-in to be put back into your account! Simply write to poker@virgingames.com with your nickname, the tourney you bubbled in, and the date. In turn, Virgin Poker will reimburse you. You can only do this twice per month, so reserve it for the biggest buy-in tournaments you'll play, and don’t forget to abuse that bubble! The top 50 MTT players will split €1000 each month. First place is worth a healthy €200. You can check your status on the Virgin Poker MTT Leaderboard. Every April, Virgin Poker will host a tournament for top players with a €10,000 WSOP package up for grabs.
Are you generally unlucky? Does your opponent always outdraw your big hand with an even bigger hand? If you’re feeling unlucky, hit Virgin Poker's Bad Beat cash tables (50c/€1 and above). If you lose a hand with 4 of a kind 6's or better you will actually have won a nice chunk of change, courtesy of the running jackpot. You could be winning €100,000 no sweat by losing!
