Avoid Victor Chandler!!! by Jean Glair on 13 Dec 2011

rating 2 / 5
I manage an online poker portal much like this one and I was recently taken for a ride by the crooks at Victor Chandler. I entered into a relationship with Victor Chandler Poker whereby I would be paid in relation to how many players I brought them. It took a while to get things rolling, writing content and performing SEO. Slowly but surely I began to bring them a number of players. All of a sudden, they disconnected my links without informing me. I contacted them and they responded by telling me that we weren't bringing them enough players so they were discontinuing our business relationship. The bastards also informed me that they would be keeping the money that I rightfully earned bringing them players.
Let us not forget that their CEO was recently arrested in Israel for illegally distributing Prepaid Cards. These cards allowed players to access the casino from Israel, where it is illegal. They were also busted for transferring $9 million dollars in cash earned from the fraud without reporting it to the tax authority...real class act. Victor Chandler does not respect their business partners and they do not respect the law; do not expect that they will respect either you or your money. The "face" of the Victor Chandler brands is Victor Chandler himself, a debonair and classy-looking wealthy fellow that evokes feelings of trust and stability. What a farce! Just a bunch of crooks...better off just burning your money and saving yourself the trouble.
Great bonus by blindman on 21 Jan 2008

I can't complain about the 10/25 bonus.
Mine is now up to over $100 in a couple
of weeks.
Note that the bonuses now cashout much
faster than the above table shows.
Bonuses are released at $5 per 300
points, and points accumulate at about
0.5 points per $0.10 in rake (including
0.25 for < 0.10 rake which is good when
you are playing very low limits). This
is the fastest cashout rate I have seen
for bonuses anywhere.
Negative point is that
deposit/withdrawal methods are limited.
Note that Neteller is only enabled on
USD, GBP or EUR account (important point
for Australians).

VC Poker.com Overview
VC Poker is Europe's biggest and most respected independent gaming companies. VC stands for Victor Chandler, who started out over 80 years ago racing greyhounds and then became a bookmaker or ‘bookie’. Their continued evolution has led them to strive towards gaming completeness by having one of Europe's biggest poker rooms, which is exactly what VCPoker.com has become.
VC Poker parted ways with iPoker, and is now part of the Entraction Poker Network, which is a small but very solid European poker network. The most notable Entraction member site is Devilfish Poker. The Entraction Network was purchased earlier this year by Las Vegas company, International Game Technology (IGT) for $115 million. As part of their new management strategy, Entraction, and hence VC Poker, do not accept players from the United States, Canada, Israel, Norway, Russia, or Turkey. By complying with international gaming laws, Entraction aims to be a major player in the USA market when online poker there becomes regulated.
Available games at VC Poker include Limit, Pot-limit, and No-limit Hold’em, Limit and Pot-limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, and 5 Card Draw, as well as bunch of very uncommon games not found on larger sites such as 32-Draw and 2-7 Triple Draw. NL Stakes range from €.02 - €.04 up to €00 - €400 and Limit stakes run from €0.10 - €0.20 up to €750 - €1500. It does not matter what you play or how you play it; VCPoker has you covered.
During peak times, there are several thousand players to be found online, with copious amounts of fish among them. More obscure variations of poker such as Draw and Stud are not as well populated on the network, but you will find some action. However, do not expect as much as the ‘game du jour’, which is No-limit Hold'em.
Sit and Go tournaments are pretty popular on the Entraction network, so if this is your favorite form of poker then you may be in luck. Regarding stakes, you will find that every bankroll level is covered. There are tourneys with buy-ins ranging from 55 cents all the way up to €1000 + 30, with the most popular ranging right through the $2 to $20 levels.
Multi-table Tournaments (MTTs) are available and you can expect a range of buy-ins from freerolls or VIP Point buy-ins right through to entry fees in the four figures. As far as regular guarantees are concerned, VC Poker hosts too many to list here, but know that there's over €100,000 in guaranteed prize pools every day, so you should have no trouble finding a tournament that offers a structure, buy-in and prize pool to your liking.
VC Poker offers its own unique VIP Point System. Called their VIP Programme, different tiers are available based on how often you play. As you move up in the tiers, benefits increase, including cash back rewards, VIP Freerolls, and VIP store discounts.
Victor Chandler Poker.com Software Interface/Usability
VC Poker has always taken on the software package of the network which it currently belongs to, so if you've played there in the past and left because of the software, it's definitely worth checking them out again. VC Poker’s switch from iPoker software to Entraction software, while fundamentally the same, does offer a new look and color palette for players looking for something fresh.
Aside from some slight rearrangements in the lobby that greet you when you open it, VC Poker should be pretty familiar if you've ever played at an online poker room before. Along the top of the window are a series of tabs so that you can choose the type of poker you want to play, and then on the far right are some more advanced filters so you can list only tables of a certain limit, stakes, currency or based on other distinctions. You can of course easily access both the cashier and support from within the poker download.
The table layout is fairly simple, but perfectly functional. Animations are smooth and it's a very simple avatar-free design that should run at a solid speed even on slightly older computers. Stack sizes and bet sizes are fairly clear, as is the size of the pot. The only slightly negative thing we have to say about the table interface is that the buttons are fairly cluttered when it's your turn to act- in addition to the standard three buttons, there are five buttons below the bet slider for betting various fractions of the pot, from a min-bet through to shoving all-in. While these buttons can often be quite useful, most other poker rooms find a way to make them take a bit less space, so you're not faced with an overwhelming array of miss-click opportunities when multi-tabling.
Online poker has been popular for so many years now that pretty much all poker rooms have their interfaces reasonably under control and are reasonably similar. If you've played poker on the internet before, whether on an Entraction site or elsewhere, you should have little trouble coming to grips with the VC Poker client. Overall, the VC Poker client is efficient, and easy to use.
VC Poker Room Action
VC Poker has seen a drop in action since moving from iPoker, the fourth largest network in the world, to the Entraction Network. However, the action VC Poker does see is nice and fishy. At peak hours, there are about half the players online as there once was, so at odd hours cash tables may take a few minutes to fill up, but its certainly worth the wait.
VC Poker is also home to some of the softest tournaments on the internet. Check out their guaranteed tournaments as they are always filled with plenty of fish. VC Poker Sit and Gos are also soft and if you place on the SNG Leaderboard you can make some extra cash.
VC Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
While the poker landscape has changed in the past few years, VC Poker continues to go strong. Fish won't be handing you money, but if you are a solid player, you can easily exploit your opponents. Plenty of fishy action can be found by registering in a tournament at VC Poker. Assuming you win all the hands you should, you can rack up a lot of money in their MTTs.
VCPoker.com Promotion Code and Bonuses
VC Poker offers a wide array of deposit bonuses to suit players needs. VC Poker and FTR have teamed up to bring you an exclusive FTR deposit bonus. This bonus is 200% up to €2500, meaning your deposit bonus will be twice as much as you deposit! Deposit €1250 to take full advantage of the €2500. To take advantage of this offer, just enter 200bonus in the deposit code field.
VC Poker's normal deposit bonus is 200% up to €1,000 bonus, with this exclusive bonus you’re getting more than double that! When you make your first deposit be sure to enter the VC Poker Bonus Code 200bonus to take advantage of this tremendous offer.
You have 30 days to earn the bonus which is released at a rate of €1 for every 10 VIP Points earned. VIP Points are earned by playing real money ring and tournament games.
If you are new to online poker or play small stakes then we recommend using the VC Poker Bonus Code 2FIFTY when making your initial deposit. This bonus code will unlock a 100% up to €250 bonus that does not expire, so you will have all the the time you need to earn it. It clears at the same rate as the primary bonus: €1 per 10 VIP Points. The bonus will be released in one lump sum as soon as you have accumulated the required number of VIP Points.
To view your progress, select "Account Information" in the lobby and then click on the "Bonuses" tab. Finally, if you are a fan of live tournaments, VC Poker offers a deposit bonus right up your alley. Use Bonus Code EMOPBONUS and make a deposit of over €250 and you will be eligible to earn the European Masters of Poker Bonus. Players will have to wait 31 days after their deposit to begin earning the bonus, then they will have 150 days to earn 16,500 VPPS. If enough VPPs are earned, these players will be registered for the EMOP live event of their choice that carries a buy in of €1000+€100. VC will also take care of accommodations!
Besides great first deposit bonuses, players can boost their bankrolls thanks to VC Poker's VIP Cash Back. The more points you earn, the more favorable your exchange rate. To illustrate, if you have earned less than 100 VIPP (VIP Points) you can trade in your points at a rate of 18 VIPP per €1. On the other hand, if you have accumulated over 10,000 VPPS you can trade in your points at a rate of 7 VPPS per €1. Top earners will also earn store discounts and can enter VIP Freerolls. Be sure to keep an eye out for a number of monthly promotions VC Poker offers, as well.
VC Poker will also reward you for getting lucky and unlucky. If you lose with aces full of kings or better than they will credit your account with 100x the small blind. Make a royal flush that gets to showdown and you will be awarded with cash equal to 50x the small blind. Submit all claims to support@pokersupport.com.

Always improving on 31 Jul 2006

Ive been playing here for a couple of
years at least due to the VC student
poker freerolls. The site has improved
massively in this time, many things not
included in the main reveiw.
7card is now offered in hi and lo, as to
are smaller stake ring games. Multi
tabling is easy to start, but there is
no window resize feature and it is
difficult to keep on top of all games.
The interface has also slightly been
improved and hotkeys are now safer to
use (Before check would sometimes turn
into call and so on). 4 colour decks,
pop up table, sounds and hotkeys can all
be turned off or on, as can avatars and
chip ammounts.
I found this an excellent site to start
from with low stakes for first timers,
and a good variance of TAG and loose
players when moving up the stakes for
players who have a game plan set out.
Small player base means i often have
notes on at least one player in any S&G
i join, but at the same time that means
they will have notes on me. $5 and $10
S&G seem to be full of TPTK players, and
some even go to the river with just ace
high. Easy to spot the 2-3 players who
will challenege you for the win.
Bonuses are complicated, as are the cash
out rules. You now have to cash out the
amount you deposited to the same
card/method before you can cash out over
that amount (which can be done by any
method)

I love VC on 21 Apr 2006

I used to only play VC and made a decent
amount of money and then made the
mistake of moving to Paradise based on
reviews from this website. Found it a
lot worse all round. Yes there are fish
but the blind structure (goes up in
hands, not time like VC) cripples the
S&Gs in my opinion. The first half hour
or so is painfully slow whilst the
blinds are tiny and not worth stealing.
Then when they begin shooting up
everyone goes all-in with anything
making it a complete crapshoot. VC
allows those that don't know what
they're doing to hang themselves slowly
as the blinds rise steadily. Plus very
easy cashing in/out, great support and
much friendlier than other sites (stand
up full-tilt - the biggest bunch of
know-it-all asses on the planet). PS
ignore the chat about bad beats. Bad
beats = bad players = good money. Keep
it up VC!

It's ok, but not for Americans! I
guess you have to go through Doyle's
room for US players. It's on the
Tribeca network. Pretty good network,
not super heavy on players yet, but you
can find games. Interface is ok, but
fish is quite good. See what you think
while earning the bonus. The network is
growing steadily with the several skins.

VC Poker now has hand histories. It is
the only poker room i have ever played
at and i play mainly SnGs, have moved
from the 50c to $5 level and always
found tables starting within a couple of
minutes at the most, at any time of day.
Also, the main factor i guess, i am
finding them definately beatable. Though
there are a few players who know what
they are doing so be careful.

VC is Doyle's Room on 27 May 2005
Interface:

The "American" skin for VCPoker is
Doyle's Room. Just something to bear
in mind if you don't care to play
against European suck n' draws (which,
obviously, I don't).
The "Doyle's Room" interface is next
to impossible to navigate, with hand
histories, player ignore lists, and
player notes scattered through the gui
in some pretty awkward ways.
The play is pretty light, and there are
plenty of fish, but they're next to
impossible to shake off a hand, no
matter what it is (especially the
Irish). Good if you flop a made hand,
otherwise, you're not going to get a
card in edgewise. If you're looking
for good "international" play, I
suggest Gus Hansen's site
(www.pokerchamps.com). VC/Doyle's Room
is obviously designed for, operated by,
and for the total benefit of people who
simply do not understand the game.
I don't know if Doyle is afraid that
Social Security is going to collapse on
him or something, because him allowing
his name to be placed on such a site is
testament to what some people will do
for money.
The trivia for cash and action points in
their welcome lobby is pretty fun,
though. It's entirely possible for a
good tournament player to generate their
entire bank from action point freerolls
with points won at trivia. I did.

best layout in my opinion, pretty quick,

However, i've alraedy seen this

people play rubbish and hit runner

play, but be very wary of this. Hell of

Pretty good site. I've played here for
5 months and the best times to play are
usually 3-7PM CST, because this is when
the casual players get on. There are
sharks at every limit, but when there's

Decent poker room, not my favorite. I
have accounts at 10 poker rooms and I
would rate this one around the middle of
the pack overall. I prefer EmpirePoker,
PartyPoker, PokerStars, UltimateBet, and
Paradise Poker over VCPoker. But VCPoker
does have it's redeeming qualities,
tournament/SnG action is pretty good
with plenty of stakes, interface is ok
(but lacking hand histories!), cashing
in and out is no problem.
