Unibet Overview
Unibet is part of the well-known Microgaming poker network. Unibet has been in the online gaming industry since 1997, and is licensed by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta. Unibet boasts a wide range of poker games, including No Limit Holdem, Limit Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha, Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, 7 card stud, 5 card stud, 5 card draw and Razz. Most of the action is at shorthanded (6 max) tables, but there are also heads up tables and the occasional full ring table running.
Stakes range from €0.02/.04 to €50/100 for most games, so players will always be able to find games in their comfort zone and beyond.
The average amount of players connected to the site is approximately 1,200, with about 2,500 at peak times. Their daily tournaments typically get between 100 and 400 players. Their largest regularly scheduled Sunday tournament boasts a €75,000 guarantee with a buy in of €200+20. VIP points at Unibet are earned at a rate of 10 per $1 in generated rake. You can use your points to purchase a huge variety of special items in the Unibet Shop, buy into certain multi-table tournaments or redeem them for cash at a rate of 33 VIP points per $1.
The rewards system is quite nice for players of all stakes. There are four tiers of Poker Club: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Bronze membership is automatic, with an extra VIP point reward based on 5% of your rake that week. Silver membership requires 250 points and will double your weekly extra VIP point reward. Earning 500 points in a week will earn you Gold membership, which gives players a straight 17% rakeback in cash. Earning 2000 points a week earns Platinum status, which gives players 30% rakeback and a three week grace period in which to retain this highest level.
Raking €500 or more in a calendar month will also get you pre-registered for exclusive UPlus freeroll tournaments, up to three in total. In these special tournaments, the more you rake, the more you can win! A percentage of the rake you generate each month will go towards the prize pools of these tournaments. Unibet Software & Interface
The Microgaming network software leaves a bit to be desired, but it isn’t too hard to navigate to find the games you want.
The games are broken down nearly into sections for Cash Games, Blaze Poker (their version of Rush/speed poker), Sit & Gos and Multitable tournaments. Within each section you can check the types of games (eg 6max, heads up) you want as well as the stakes. There is a handy button at the bottom which allows you to clear your selections, to in essence make a new “search” of the games you’d like. Tables can be sorted by any of their headings, such as # of seats, average pot size and % of players seeing the flop.
The game tables are resizable, and there are Table Display options in the lobby which will automatically tile or cascade all of your open tables. This is a nice feature which allows you to multitable with ease, up to 10 tables at a time!

Since adopting 6max games as their bread and butter, the action on Unibet has gotten much better. There are plenty of loose games with decently large average pot sizes.

Unibet offers four levels of sign up bonus, which appeal to players of different stakes.

The €100 Bonus clears at a rate of €10 per 400 VIP points collected, equivalent to about 25% rakeback.

The €500 Bonus clears at a rate of €50 per 3,000 VIP points collected, equivalent to about 16.7% rakeback. Although the percent returns are lower for the larger bonuses, they also have a much higher cap on the amount you can earn. For this reason, it is best to take the smallest bonus unless you are sure that you can clear at least €150 worth of bonus money.
All the bonuses must be activated within 10 days of creating your account. Once activated you have 60 days to earn points towards your chosen bonus.
