ive beeb playing at sun a couple of

New Rakeback by DeezNutz on 15 Jun 2007

I for one am excited for this new
rakeback scale coming on July 1st. I
play a lot of hands there and for the
mid to larger player, the rakeback is
going to be significantly more money
back in my pocket. With the $1,000
bonus and $500 no deposit bonus, it's
going to be easy to come out way ahead
with this poker room every month. I
just wish they had more high limit games
available at non-peak times. That's
about my only complaint with this room.
Anyone looking for a great room that's
not one of the Big boys, this should be
your first stop. And be sure to get
rakeback with FTR before signing up at
Sun. It's too easy!

Sun Poker.com Overview
In 2008 SunPoker moved from Cryptologic Network to the larger iPoker Network. This move ensured that SunPoker would be a player in the online poker industry. Now, the room boasts a ton of players and a variety of tournaments and cash games.
SunPoker spreads a wide variety of cash games, starting at $.01/.02 NL Hold’em and going all the way up to $300/$600 Limit Hold’em. For those who like other games, SunPoker offers Pot-Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, as well as 5 and 7 Card Stud. The most players can be found at the microstakes, however, this is still plenty of action at the mid-stakes games, while the high-stakes are all but dead.
Sit & Go tournaments at Sun Poker are very popular, with good action across a wide range of buy-ins. Hundreds of players are playing in these tournaments, even during off peak hours. If you’re looking for a place with a wide and diverse player base then Sun Poker might well be for you. The buy-ins start at $0.10 + $0.02 and go up to $5,000 + $200, a pretty nice range at any site. Action is spread surprisingly well throughout the different stakes, although you’ll find that most players congregate at the lower levels. While most of the action can be found at lower stakes, there are still many games running above $50 including a few at the $200 + $15 level. All in all, there’s plenty to offer every player with this S&G selection.
Sun Poker has a solid looking tournament package, with thousands of players involved around the clock. The Freerolls start at $0, which is a great way to skip the “Play Money” scenario and play free games for actual winnings. After that, their lowest buy-in is $0.50 + $0.05, while their highest is $500 + $30. There were players at almost every level of tournaments, with only the very highest stakes looking a bit barren. The Freerolls attract the most players, while most other players gather in the low stakes tournaments. The range of tournaments on Sun Poker really seems to have brought in the crowds, and will be exciting to see how they can build on their success in the future.
Sun Poker offers a VIP program that rewards players for continuously playing at their cash games. Upon playing your first cash game, you are automatically enrolled into the VIP program at the starting ‘Mars Level’. Levels are determined by ‘Sun Point’ accumulation. There are five levels and each advancing level accumulates Sun Points faster than the previous one. Advancing through the ranks also means access to more exclusive freerolls. Levels are open to recalculation each month but, unlike other poker rooms, it is up to you whether or not your VIP level is correctly ranked. If you have earned enough points within a month's time to advance to the next level, you must send an email to support in order to have your level upgraded.
Here is an explanation of how Sun Points are earned at each level:

Point Accumulation at Tournaments
Sun Poker.com Software Interface/Usability
SunPoker’s software has a nice look to it. It is catchy, but not busy enough to distract you from what you are trying to do. A left hand menu lays out the games in a quick and easy to find manner. Personalized filters can also be set to make game finding even easier. The lobby could use some work though. The filters at the top do not stand out and blend in with the rest of the lobby. These are important items such as game type and stakes, so making these stand out would be very helpful to the player.
The SunPoker software shines brightly when you take your seat. Players are raving about the resizable tables that allow them to make the default table size bigger or smaller based on their personal preference. The hand history function also works better than most rooms in the industry. Overall, the SunPoker tables look great and players will have no problem following the action.
The SunPoker installation is quick and easy, with simple to follow instructions. The client is available in English, German, Portuguese, French, Spanish, Russian, and Italian. The software SunPoker's software requires Windows Vista/XP/200/98/NT/95, 32MB RAM and 20MB of free hard disk space. Unfortunately the software is not compatible with Macs.
SunPoker also offers a wide range of currencies to use. They are the United States Dollar, the Great Britain Pound, the Euro.
Sun Poker.com Poker Room Action
Since changing to the iPoker Network SunPoker has seen a nice boost in their player base. More players mean larger tournament prize pools, softer cash games, and more total SNGs. While most of the players can be found at the lower stakes, SunPoker is starting to see some life at their mid and high-stakes tournaments and SNGs. With iPoker on their side, SunPoker should only keep growing in the near future.
Sun Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
Since leaving the US market, SunPoker has become full of fish! Part of this can be attributed to their merger with the iPoker Network, which tends to be full of European players. As the site keeps growing and more and more new players find out about it, look for SunPoker to be one of the softest sites around!
Sun Poker.com Bonuses and Promotions
SunPoker offers a nice exclusive first deposit bonus of 100% up to $600 for FTR sign ups! This is $100 more than the standard bonus, so what are you waiting for? All you have to do is sign up through the links on this page, use the coupon code FTR, and make a deposit of any amount up to $600. In order to collect the bonus, each bonus $1 requires 1000 Sun Points to be earned. You have 90 days to clear the bonus.
Earning Sun Points is fairly simple: just play ring games and tournaments and you will earn points based on the amount of rake and tournament fees. The Overview section has an in-depth description of how many points are awarded per VIP level. The more Sun Points earned per month the higher the VIP level. The higher the VIP level, the faster Sun Points are earned, and the faster the bonus money is released! Your bonus will be released to your account in $5 increments for every 5,000 points you accumulate.
Sun Points not only determine VIP levels (which get players into exclusive freerolls) but they can also be exchanged for cash.
Referring a friend to Sun Poker can boost your bankroll by up to $100, so tell your friends and get rewarded!
Are you a tournament player? Sun Poker is home to the $200,000 Guaranteed Tournament. The massive event pops off every Sunday so mark your calendar and claim your share of $200k!
Sun Poker is also home to a host of seasonal promotions including jackpots, freerolls, and cash back opportunities. Check out the promotion section on their website for more details.

Sun Poker.com Customer and Technical Support
SunPoker offers support that is rated about average against other sites. You can reach support via email, phone, live support, or fax. While their email replies are personalized and written so they are easy to understand and to the point, they do take awhile. However, waiting 15 hours for an email reply isn't nearly as bad as some of those other sites out there. For quick help, the live support is both fast and supportive. However, the chat is structured so that the newest responses show up at the top of the window, instead of the bottom like most chats. It is a little uncomfortable reading backwards at first.

What? Sun Poker just decided to change
their rakeback policies to screw
existing rakeback players? I don't get
it. Things were so good for a long time.
Supposed to occur on July 1, 2007 - so
we'll see what happens, I'm not sure
exactly what's going to happen, but I
did receive a heads up. I hate to see
sudden changes in the terms and
agreements, especially when they're
meant to benefit the poker room and put
more money in their pockets. However,
Sun Poker is a good place to play, with
great bonuses, reloads, service, etc...
I'm on the fence whether to continue
playing there, I guess it all depends on
what happens to my rakeback over the
coming months. Good Luck!

Carribbean Sun shines Brightly on 15 Nov 2005

Rakeback Program - Admittedly i
accidently signed up directly, instead
of through the link, but a couple of
emails to the admin folks of FTR and
another one to the website directly and
I was ready to go. The customer service
folks were 100% helpful and friendly and
a response was lightening quick in all
instances.
Interface / Usability - Pretty good, no
fancy graphics or anything, just solid
easy-to-browse table lists showing
stakes, players involved, average pots
etc.
Room Action - Most tables are always
busy, at all levels. I am still a newbie
so only play the lower stakes, but i've
still made over $100 in profit off just
a few hours a weeks play at $0.25 /
$0.50
Technical / Customer Support - This is
where these guys stand out for me. They
respond amazingly fast to emails, and i
mean within an Hour sometimes. NTL have
still not responded to an email i sent
months ago!!!! So, you can feel 100%
totally sure that if you have a problem,
these guys will step up and help and so
far i have always had an agreable
resolution.
Ease of money / Fishy's - As i 've
only played at low levels its hard to
give a good estimate, but as stated
above i have made $100 profit in 2
months, only playing a couple of hours a
week at low level stakes, and im $10
away from making my 2nd $100 bucks. So,
take from that what you will.
Bonus / promotions - The rakeback
program is awsome, my first payment came
through recently and i was amazed it was
soo high considering how little i felt
i'd played. This is an absolute must if
you are going to sign up. Good matching
bonus too, i deposited $20 and got
another $20 back within a the month
(playing 100 raked hands).
Overall, this has been my favourite site
so far (i've played at 3 in total) and
i thoroughly recommend it for both
Newbies and Seasoned hands alike!!! Get
playing!

One of the most underrated rooms on the
Internet. The action here has
increased substantially over the past
few months because of all the
marketing attention the Crypto rooms
have seen. Their stock price has
skyrocketed. You're going to get a lot
of novice players here because of
Caribbean Sun's sister property the
Sands. A lot of blackjack players will
try their hand at poker because it's
hot and they just get eaten up. If
you have any experience playing poker,
you won't have much of a
problem earning here, although a lot of
experienced players are now
catching onto this room also because of
its killer bonus structure. One
of the few poker rooms to give
ATTAINABLE bonuses every month. None
of this deposit $5000 and get $50 B.S.
They give you an honest $40
straight up every month. Good luck!

I find the pace of the games on this
sight to be a lot slower than the Party
Poker skins. Also, I don't know if it
is just me, but the tables hurt my eyes
a little when I have 2+ tables open at
the same time.
The players are ok, but there are
definitely some wild players at the
limit that I play (NL 0.5/1.00) who will
go all in on a flush draw or high pair.
I don't find the quality of players any
better than PP, and maybe even a little
worse.
Tourneyment selection is also a little
weak. I find I have to sort by number
signed up and have to take what's
available at the time. This sight needs
more players.

very solid and decent rooms. My

An up an coming Poker room. Software is
good, but when it comes to the important
stuff, they know how to treat the poker
player. Their staff is always there, and
with the bonuses, Caribbean Sun is the
first to deliver with their low hand
requirement. Only 500 hands required for
$40. This is EVERY 500 hands. Great
bonus. Straight up and to the point! Not
like these other sites that have all the
fine print.
I'm consistently up on this poker room
every month.
There are so many fish there it's
ridiculous. Crypto rooms and this one
in particular are noted for their fish.
Take the path less traveled and you'll
be happy.
