VC Poker Highlights
-
300% up to $600 bonus on your initial deposit! -- Use Promotion Code: Value600
-
NUTS: VCPoker benefits of a beautiful and functional interface for playing. The lobby is well laid out with everything being clearly visible and easy to navigate. This site has an excellent blind structure in tourneys, both SNG and MTT. They have live support and it is always available, 24/7. There is a great note-taking facility implemented into the software, and also relevant statistics are easily available. They offer great bonuses that clear relatively quickly. Excellent No-Limit action will always be available, all the way up to $5/$10 NL. Tons of fish on the iPoker network!
-
BEATS: VCPoker is restricted for US players and many other countries' players as well. VCPoker has low traffic in SNGs during quiet hours. They also have relatively suboptimal full ring NLHE traffic at midstakes during quieter times. The overall traffic has very noticeable peaks and valleys. Games other than NLHE have abysmally low traffic at medium stakes ($1/$2 NL) and up.

VC Poker.com Overview
is one of Europe's biggest and most respected independent gaming companies. VC stands for ‘Victor Chandler’ who started out over 80 years ago racing greyhounds and then became a bookmaker or ‘bookie’. Their continued evolution has led them to strive towards gaming completeness by having one of Europe's biggest poker rooms, which is exactly what VCPoker.com is.
Recently switching away from the Tribeca Network, VC is now a proud member of the big iPoker network, notable as the backend for other prominent rooms such as Titan Poker, Doyle's Room, Noble Poker, CDPoker and Cardoza Games, amongst others. Because of this room's affiliation to the iPoker network, players now benefit immensely in important matters such as amounts of fish and availability of juicy games. Equally important is the technical side and VCPoker has an excellent interface. Unfortunately, VC Poker does not accept US Players for the time being.
Available games include Limit, Pot-limit, and No-limit Hold’em, Limit and Pot-limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, and 5 Card Stud. Available stakes start as low as $.01 - $.02 and go all the way up to $100 - $200. It does not matter what you play or how you play it: VCPoker has you covered.
Notably, the iPoker network is one of the most popular networks for ring play in the No-limit format. It is truly a shame that US players are not allowed to play on the network, an unpleasant consequence of the passing of the UIGEA. During peak times, it is perfectly normal to find 1000 tables in action, all running with abundant fish. More obscure variations of poker such as Omaha and Stud are not as well populated on the network, but you will find some action. However, do not expect as much as the ‘game du jour’, which is No-limit Hold'em.
On the iPoker network the tournament traffic is less than the cash (ring) game traffic in sheer numbers. Tourneys are not as popular as cash, but they are continually growing. Regarding stakes, you will find that every bankroll level is covered: there are tourneys with buy-ins ranging from 12 cents all the way up to $1000 + 50. The most popular Sit-N-Go's are at the $20 + 2 level and there are always quite a few of these going on at once. Also popular are the Sit-N-Go's at the $50 + 5, $100 + 9, and $200 + 15 levels.
Multi-table Tournaments (MTTs) are available and you can expect a range of buy-ins from $1 to $109, with daily guaranteed prize pool offerings from $500 ($3 + $.3 FO) to $20,000 ($10 + $1 rebuy). Their Sunday regular tournament has a $200 + 15 buy-in and offers a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, good enough for a very nice 5-figure payday for the lucky winner!
VC Poker also recently started offering its own unique VIP Point System. Called their "VIP Programme", different tiers are available based on how often you play. As you move up in the tiers better benefits are available. Here are some of the rewards their VIP Point System offers:
The VC Poker VIP Programme offers our members a variety of benefits, including:
- Generous monthly Loyalty Cash Bonuses
- Land Based Tournament Entry and Sponsorship
- Faster Action Points accumulation
- Exclusive reload bonuses
- Invitations to premier sporting events
- Monthly newsletter and special Action Point redemption options
Basically, you have 6 tiers (levels), identified with obvious monikers "Tier 6" through "Tier 1". The tier you are at will be determined by how many Action Points (AP) you earn over a set period of time, currently 2 months. Tier 6 is where all the new players start, Tier 5 begins at 2500 AP, Tier 4 at 7500 AP, Tier 3 at 15000 AP, Tier 2 at 30000 AP, and Tier 1 at 60000 AP. Each player’s VIP status will be reviewed and updated if necessary on the 1st of each month, and your status will be determined by the amount of your Action Points averaged over the previous two months' of play. New players are eligible for their first VIP upgrade after playing for just two calendar months. That means that a player registering a real money account on the 10th of January will be eligible for their first VIP upgrade on March 1st. Getting to Tier 1 takes some serious effort and a lot of play but the rewards you will reap justify the journey, as they are excellent!
Victor Chandler Poker.com Software Interface/Usability
The interface at is one of the best we've seen. From the lobby the average pot can be seen although the percentage of players seeing each flop is not. The tables seat 9 players. The chips and cards are displayed larger than most other interfaces and this means you can easily keep track of games whilst 4-tabling on a 17" monitor. The sound is also good, with chips and cards sounding as they should. There is an option to take notes on players (up to 1024 chars) and once you have made a note on a player a yellow note icon appears next to their name.
Victor Chandler Poker also has statistics available that accumulate over time and can be filtered for game type and number of players at the table. These are very detailed showings of games won, flops seen, won at showdown, won with flop seen, percentages of calling and raising, percentage of folding position, etc.
Victor Chandler Poker has a number of avatars available that add color and help to identify players. There is a single chat window, which is separate from your tables. While this is good for storing chat, a major negative is that if you are multi-tabling and the focus jumps to another table you will lose half the written chat. There is also a good fish/buddy list that shows ring games and tournaments your friends are playing at, and there are alerts that will flash up on each table when a friend comes online.
Past updates to VCPoker have added a hand history feature, different table views, special bet buttons (pot, all-in), different chat views, special avatars, and more. Some of these features were sorely needed, like the hand history and table views. Often taken for granted today, for quite some time this online room did not offer a hand history. Now you can easily access their viewer by pressing the "history" button on the bottom of the table. One drawback is their viewer shows images that are hard to follow and does not display any text. However, by not using their viewer you can save text files for all your hands onto your local computer.
If different table views are needed it is because of one reason: their tables are too big! If you click on the ‘table’ picture above, you will see the actual size relative to the monitor. Because the chat is attached as a column to the side of the table, it takes up unnecessary screen space. However, you can change the location of the chat window to the bottom left corner of the table. While the table itself is larger than most other online rooms, this does make it much easier for multi-tabling. If the table is still too large, you can switch to ‘mini view’ (shown above). The pictures above are almost the exact size ratios when switching modes so you can get a glimpse of what they would look like. A re-sizeable table option is a badly needed update, but at least they added these different views until that is realized.
VC Poker Room Action
As written by Forum Member Legendash:
”I've been playing at for a year. Victor Chandler was the first poker room I played at because they offered a chance to earn real money by entering limit SNG's. After a few weeks of play (and the discovery of FTR), I had created my first bank roll. The reason I was able to achieve this was due to a unique feature of VCPoker, extremely low buy-in SNG's and MTT's.
VCPoker's range of SNG buy-ins are $0.1 up to and $1000 so there should be a tournament to suit any bankroll. You start with 2,000 chips and blinds start at 20/40 increasing every 8 minutes which gives plenty of time to apply your skills. MTT's are a similar story with the same blind structure and similarly low buy-ins, starting at 0.01+0 R&A and including $0.25, $0.6 $1 $2 $3 $6 $12 etc.
Waiting for a SNG to start is not as quick as PokerStars, for example, but they will start after a few minutes.
There is always a table open for every limit at VCPoker. Because they do not accept US players the most popular time is around 2pm ET, and at this time I found over 25 full $1 - $2 no-limit hold'em tables. There are times when there are even more, especially for lower limits. The action isn't so great for Omaha or Stud, but you should occasionally be able to find a game.”
VC Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
has a mix of decent players and very poor players. The average pot sizes are closer to PartyPoker and EmpirePoker. The game at VCPoker is generally not quite as tight as at PokerStars, nor quite as loose/maniacal as at PartyPoker and EmpirePoker. Overall, it's a good place to play. Consistent money can be made at No- limit Hold'em ring games at VCPoker.
VCPoker.com Promotion Code and Bonuses
See our VC Poker Bonus page for details on clearing your bonus.
offers a really good bonus! Use our Promotion Code of Value600 under the Promotions tab in the cashier. To clear the promotional bonus, you must earn action points. That is somewhat complicated as VCPoker recently changed how Action Points are earned, but it is definitely clearable.
VCPoker offers an exclusive first time deposit bonus for FTR members. By signing up through FlopTurnRiver, you will receive a 300% up to $600 bonus on your first deposit! So if you have $200 laying around, you can turn it into $800 with a deposit at VCPoker! This is for new accounts only. This bonus is paid out in increments of $5 for every 300 Action Points earned until the complete amount is cleared. In order to qualify for this great bonus, you have to signup with the links on this page and enter the VCPoker Promotion Code Value600 under the Promotions tab in "My Account".
Here is how Action Points are earned:
You earn Action Points even when the rake is just $.01! For every 10 cents the rake increases, you earn more Action Points. For example, if the rake is between $.01 - $.10, you will earn .25 APs. At $.11 - $.20, .75 APs. For a $.21 - $.30 rake, 1.25 APs. For a rake of $.31 - $.40, 1.75 APs. This goes all the way up to $3.01 - $5.00 for 20 APs. So you could potentially earn 20 Action Points in just one hand. You also are awarded 40 Actions Points for every $1 in tournament fees paid, so this is a nice bonus for tournament players as well. Your bonus must be earned within 45 days or it will become void.

I can't complain about the 10/25 bonus.
Mine is now up to over $100 in a couple
of weeks.
Note that the bonuses now cashout much
faster than the above table shows.
Bonuses are released at $5 per 300
points, and points accumulate at about
0.5 points per $0.10 in rake (including
0.25 for < 0.10 rake which is good when
you are playing very low limits). This
is the fastest cashout rate I have seen
for bonuses anywhere.
Negative point is that
deposit/withdrawal methods are limited.
Note that Neteller is only enabled on
USD, GBP or EUR account (important point
for Australians).

Ive been playing here for a couple of
years at least due to the VC student
poker freerolls. The site has improved
massively in this time, many things not
included in the main reveiw.
7card is now offered in hi and lo, as to
are smaller stake ring games. Multi
tabling is easy to start, but there is
no window resize feature and it is
difficult to keep on top of all games.
The interface has also slightly been
improved and hotkeys are now safer to
use (Before check would sometimes turn
into call and so on). 4 colour decks,
pop up table, sounds and hotkeys can all
be turned off or on, as can avatars and
chip ammounts.
I found this an excellent site to start
from with low stakes for first timers,
and a good variance of TAG and loose
players when moving up the stakes for
players who have a game plan set out.
Small player base means i often have
notes on at least one player in any S&G
i join, but at the same time that means
they will have notes on me. $5 and $10
S&G seem to be full of TPTK players, and
some even go to the river with just ace
high. Easy to spot the 2-3 players who
will challenege you for the win.
Bonuses are complicated, as are the cash
out rules. You now have to cash out the
amount you deposited to the same
card/method before you can cash out over
that amount (which can be done by any
method)

I used to only play VC and made a decent
amount of money and then made the
mistake of moving to Paradise based on
reviews from this website. Found it a
lot worse all round. Yes there are fish
but the blind structure (goes up in
hands, not time like VC) cripples the
S&Gs in my opinion. The first half hour
or so is painfully slow whilst the
blinds are tiny and not worth stealing.
Then when they begin shooting up
everyone goes all-in with anything
making it a complete crapshoot. VC
allows those that don't know what
they're doing to hang themselves slowly
as the blinds rise steadily. Plus very
easy cashing in/out, great support and
much friendlier than other sites (stand
up full-tilt - the biggest bunch of
know-it-all asses on the planet). PS
ignore the chat about bad beats. Bad
beats = bad players = good money. Keep
it up VC!

It's ok, but not for Americans! I
guess you have to go through Doyle's
room for US players. It's on the
Tribeca network. Pretty good network,
not super heavy on players yet, but you
can find games. Interface is ok, but
fish is quite good. See what you think
while earning the bonus. The network is
growing steadily with the several skins.

VC Poker now has hand histories. It is
the only poker room i have ever played
at and i play mainly SnGs, have moved
from the 50c to $5 level and always
found tables starting within a couple of
minutes at the most, at any time of day.
Also, the main factor i guess, i am
finding them definately beatable. Though
there are a few players who know what
they are doing so be careful.
VC is Doyle's Room by USAPokerpoker on 27 May 2005

The "American" skin for VCPoker is
Doyle's Room. Just something to bear
in mind if you don't care to play
against European suck n' draws (which,
obviously, I don't).
The "Doyle's Room" interface is next
to impossible to navigate, with hand
histories, player ignore lists, and
player notes scattered through the gui
in some pretty awkward ways.
The play is pretty light, and there are
plenty of fish, but they're next to
impossible to shake off a hand, no
matter what it is (especially the
Irish). Good if you flop a made hand,
otherwise, you're not going to get a
card in edgewise. If you're looking
for good "international" play, I
suggest Gus Hansen's site
(www.pokerchamps.com). VC/Doyle's Room
is obviously designed for, operated by,
and for the total benefit of people who
simply do not understand the game.
I don't know if Doyle is afraid that
Social Security is going to collapse on
him or something, because him allowing
his name to be placed on such a site is
testament to what some people will do
for money.
The trivia for cash and action points in
their welcome lobby is pretty fun,
though. It's entirely possible for a
good tournament player to generate their
entire bank from action point freerolls
with points won at trivia. I did.

best layout in my opinion, pretty quick,
and good tourneys especially MTT.
However, i've alraedy seen this
complaint on a number of other threads

people play rubbish and hit runner

play, but be very wary of this. Hell of

Pretty good site. I've played here for
5 months and the best times to play are
usually 3-7PM CST, because this is when
the casual players get on. There are
sharks at every limit, but when there's
a loose game, it's fish-o-plenty.

Decent poker room, not my favorite. I
have accounts at 10 poker rooms and I
would rate this one around the middle of
the pack overall. I prefer EmpirePoker,
PartyPoker, PokerStars, UltimateBet, and
Paradise Poker over VCPoker. But VCPoker
does have it's redeeming qualities,
tournament/SnG action is pretty good
with plenty of stakes, interface is ok
(but lacking hand histories!), cashing
in and out is no problem.

Great micro-limit SnG's and MTT's!
Good beginner site to play at with the
