is one of the UK and Europe's biggest poker rooms, and is powered by leading independent gaming company and bookmaker Victor Chandler. VCPoker (aka Victor Chandler Poker) has recently switched from the Tribeca Table Network to the popular iPoker Network. Other popular poker rooms on the iPoker Network include Titan Poker, Noble Poker, CDPoker, and Fair Poker. With the switch over to iPoker, VCPoker shares a large player base with plenty of action and activity in the poker room.

At VCPoker, you will find a large range of stakes ($.01 - $.02 up to $100 - $200) for their games. They have a decent variety, including; limit, pot-limit, and no-limit Hold’em, limit and pot-limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, and 5 Card Stud. As with other iPoker skins, you can expect the cash games to have a ton of people. This is one of the most popular networks for ring play, and it's a shame they don't accept US players! During their peak times you can expect over 1000 active tables. Of course most of these are addicted to the no-limit hold'em variety, but you can usually find a game of Omaha or even Stud but your table selection will be limited.

Tournaments aren't quite as popular but still growing. VCPoker has a buyin for everyone's bankroll, ranging from $.12 up to $1050. The most popular are the regular and turbos around the $20 + $2 buyin, and there are always multiple games running at once. You should also be able to toss up as many as you would want up to the $55 buyin, because I noted there were many $55, some $109, and a few $215s running as well. As for their multi-table tournaments, you can expect a range of buyins from $1 up to $109, and offer guaranteed prize pools from $500 ($3 + $.3 FO) up to $20,000 ($10 + $1 rebuy) daily. Their Sunday tournament has a $100,000 guarantee with a $215 buyin, so it is slightly behind some of the other larger rooms but you can still walk away with a nice $25k+ payday!

VCPoker recently opened their own unique VIP point system. They call it their "VIP Programme" and they have different tiers you can reach based on how often you play. As you move up, the better the benefits are, and here are some rewards you can earn:

The VC Poker VIP Programme offers our members a variety of benefits, including:

  • Generous monthly Loyalty Cash Bonuses
  • Land Based Tournament Entry and Sponsorship
  • Faster Action Points accumulation
  • Exclusive reload bonuses
  • Invitations to premier sporting events
  • Monthly newsletter and special Action Point redemption options

There are 6 different levels you can reach based on how many Action Points you earn over a period of time. Tier 6 is what all new players start at, Tier 5 begins at 2,500 APs, Tier 4 at 7,500 APs, Tier 3 at 15,000, Tier2 at 30,000, and Tier 1 at 60,000. The VIP status for each player is reviewed and changed where applicable on the 1st of each month and is determined by your monthly Action Point average over the previous two month’s play. New players are eligible for their first VIP upgrade after playing in just two calendar months. For example: a player registering a real money account on 10th April will be eligible for their first VIP upgrade on 1st June. Getting to Tier 1 would take some serious effort and a lot of play, but the benefits are great!

The interface at is one of the best I've seen. From the lobby the average pot is shown though the percentage of players seeing each flop is not. The tables seat 9 players. The chips and cards are displayed larger than other interfaces I've seen, this means I can easily keep track of games whilst 4-tabling on a 17" monitor. The sound is also good, chips and cards sound like they should. There is an option to make notes on players (up to 1024 chars) and once you have made a note on a player a yellow note icon appears next to their name.

Victor Chandler Poker also has statistics available which accumulate over time and can be filtered for game type and number of players at the table. These are very detailed showing games won, flops seen, won at showdown, won with flop seen, percentage of calling raising etc and percentage of folding position.

Victor Chandler Poker has a number of avatars available which add color and help to identify players. There is a single chat window which is separate from your tables. This is good for storing chat but if you are multi-tabling and the focus jumps to another table you will lose half written chat. There is also a good fish/buddy list which shows ring games and tournaments your friends are playing at, and alerts will flash up on each table when a friend comes online.

Some semi-recent additions to VCPoker are hand history feature, different table views, special bet buttons (pot, all-in), different chat views, special avatars, and more. Some of these features were much needed, like the hand history and table views. Believe it or not there was a time that this online room did not offer a hand history function (I know, how could we live without them today?) You can save them locally to your machine, or access their viewer by pressing the "history" button on the bottom of the table. One drawback with this is the viewer shows images which can be hard to follow and does not display any text. But like I said earlier you can save text files for all your hands onto your local computer.

The different views are needed for one reason, the tables are too big! If you click on the table picture above, you will see the actual size. Because the chat is attached to the side of the table, it makes it near impossible to fit them on any screen. However, you can change the location of the chat to the bottom left corner of the table. The table itself is still quite larger than most online rooms, but this makes it much easier for multi-tabling. If this is still too large, you can switch to mini0view (shown above). The picture is almost exact size when using this mode so you can see glimpse of what it would look like. I would like to see re-sizeable tables added, but at least they added these different views until that date.

I've (Forum Member Legendash) been playing at for a year. Victor Chandler was the first poker room I played at because they offered a chance to earn real money by entering limit SNG's. After a few weeks of play (and the discovery of FTR), I had created my first bank roll. The reason I was able to achieve this was due to a unique feature of VCPoker, extremely low buy-in SNG's and MTT's.

VCPoker's range of SNG buy-ins are $0.1 up to and $1000 so there should be a tournament to suit any bankroll. You start with 2,000 chips and blinds start at 20/40 increasing every 8 minutes which gives plenty of time to apply your skills. MTT's are a similar story with the same blind structure and similarly low buy-ins, starting at 0.01+0 R&A and including $0.25, $0.6 $1 $2 $3 $6 $12 etc.

Waiting for a SNG to start is not as quick as PokerStars, for example, but they will start after a few minutes.

There is always a table open for every limit at VCPoker. Because they do not accept US players the most popular time is around 2pm ET, and at this time I found over 25 full $1 - $2 no-limit hold'em tables. There are times when there are even more, especially for lower limits. The action isn't so great for Omaha or Stud, but you should occasionally be able to find a game.

Victor Chandler Poker has live chat with operators who have always been available when I needed to speak to them and were helpful and courteous. I deposited money instantly using Visa and cashed back out to Visa . Neteller is an option. My first cashout is still going through after 3 days, I will update when it comes through. Victor Chandler player accounts are stored in pounds though games are played in dollars. This allows cashouts in pounds without any conversions. The Manager Chat feature in the lobby is very helpful, if you press the button you will be connected to their support within seconds. I used this feature many times when I had questions about their poker rooms, and always had them answered within minutes. Very professional. You can also contact them via e-mail or phone:

E-mail: VictorChandler@pokersupport.com
Phone: 00350 49542

VCPoker has a mix of decent players and very poor players. The average pot sizes are closer to PartyPoker and EmpirePoker. The game at VCPoker, in my opinion, is not quite as tight as PokerStars, but not quite as loose/maniacal as PartyPoker and EmpirePoker. I think it's a good place to play, and you can make money there. I used to consistently make a lot of money at the no limit hold'em ring games at VCPoker.

offers a really good bonus - $35 free! Use our Promotion Code of "FreeMoney" and receive $35 without even making a deposit! To clear the promotional bonus, you must earn action points which are somewhat complicated but are definitely clearable as VCPoker recently changed how Action Points are earned. After you enter the bonus code, you will receive $10 cash in your account. In order to earn the remaining $25, you must generate 1500 Action Points, and $5 will be released every 300 Action Points. So if you have earned 923 Action Points, you would have earned $15 of the bonus. Prior to this change, it was much harder to earn this bonus. It is now easier then ever to claim your $35 free! Here is how Action Points are earned:

You can earn Action Points even when the rake is just $.01! For every 10 cents the rake increases, you will earn more Action Points. For example, is the rake is between $.01 - $.10, you will earn .25 APs. $.11 - $.20 .75 APs, $.21 - $.30 1.25 APs, $.31 - $.40 1.75 APs, all the way up to $3.01 - $5.00 for 20 APs. So you could potentially earn 20 Action Points in just one hand. You also are awarded 40 Actions Points for every $1 in tournament fees paid, so this is a nice bonus for tournament players as well. Bonus must be earned within 45 days of receiving the $10 or it will become void. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for your initial $10 in free cash to appear in your account.

“Great bonus” by blindman, 21 Jan 2008

Interface:  4/5   Action:  3/5   Support:  2/5   Fish:  3/5   Bonus:  5/5

I can't complain about the 10/25 bonus. Mine is now up to over $100 in a couple of weeks. Note that the bonuses now cashout much faster than the above table shows. Bonuses are released at $5 per 300 points, and points accumulate at about 0.5 points per $0.10 in rake (including 0.25 for < 0.10 rake which is good when you are playing very low limits). This is the fastest cashout rate I have seen for bonuses anywhere. Negative point is that deposit/withdrawal methods are limited. Note that Neteller is only enabled on USD, GBP or EUR account (important point for Australians).

 “Always improving” by L4suicide, 31 Jul 2006

Interface:  5/5   Action:  4/5   Support:  4/5   Fish:  4/5   Bonus:  2/5

Ive been playing here for a couple of years at least due to the VC student poker freerolls. The site has improved massively in this time, many things not included in the main reveiw. 7card is now offered in hi and lo, as to are smaller stake ring games. Multi tabling is easy to start, but there is no window resize feature and it is difficult to keep on top of all games. The interface has also slightly been improved and hotkeys are now safer to use (Before check would sometimes turn into call and so on). 4 colour decks, pop up table, sounds and hotkeys can all be turned off or on, as can avatars and chip ammounts. I found this an excellent site to start from with low stakes for first timers, and a good variance of TAG and loose players when moving up the stakes for players who have a game plan set out. Small player base means i often have notes on at least one player in any S&G i join, but at the same time that means they will have notes on me. $5 and $10 S&G seem to be full of TPTK players, and some even go to the river with just ace high. Easy to spot the 2-3 players who will challenege you for the win. Bonuses are complicated, as are the cash out rules. You now have to cash out the amount you deposited to the same card/method before you can cash out over that amount (which can be done by any method)

“I love VC” by kavorna, 21 Apr 2006

Interface:  5/5   Action:  4/5   Support:  5/5   Fish:  4/5   Bonus:  5/5

I used to only play VC and made a decent amount of money and then made the mistake of moving to Paradise based on reviews from this website. Found it a lot worse all round. Yes there are fish but the blind structure (goes up in hands, not time like VC) cripples the S&Gs in my opinion. The first half hour or so is painfully slow whilst the blinds are tiny and not worth stealing. Then when they begin shooting up everyone goes all-in with anything making it a complete crapshoot. VC allows those that don't know what they're doing to hang themselves slowly as the blinds rise steadily. Plus very easy cashing in/out, great support and much friendlier than other sites (stand up full-tilt - the biggest bunch of know-it-all asses on the planet). PS ignore the chat about bad beats. Bad beats = bad players = good money. Keep it up VC!

It's ok, but not for Americans! I guess you have to go through Doyle's room for US players. It's on the Tribeca network. Pretty good network, not super heavy on players yet, but you can find games. Interface is ok, but fish is quite good. See what you think while earning the bonus. The network is growing steadily with the several skins.

“Hand histories added” by nickthefool, 22 Sep 2005

Interface:  5/5   Action:  4/5   Support:  5/5   Fish:  4/5   Bonus:  4/5

VC Poker now has hand histories. It is the only poker room i have ever played at and i play mainly SnGs, have moved from the 50c to $5 level and always found tables starting within a couple of minutes at the most, at any time of day. Also, the main factor i guess, i am finding them definately beatable. Though there are a few players who know what they are doing so be careful.

“VC is Doyle's Room” by USAPokerpoker, 27 May 2005

Interface:  2/5   Action:  2/5   Support:  3/5   Fish:  4/5   Bonus:  5/5

The "American" skin for VCPoker is Doyle's Room. Just something to bear in mind if you don't care to play against European suck n' draws (which, obviously, I don't). The "Doyle's Room" interface is next to impossible to navigate, with hand histories, player ignore lists, and player notes scattered through the gui in some pretty awkward ways. The play is pretty light, and there are plenty of fish, but they're next to impossible to shake off a hand, no matter what it is (especially the Irish). Good if you flop a made hand, otherwise, you're not going to get a card in edgewise. If you're looking for good "international" play, I suggest Gus Hansen's site (www.pokerchamps.com). VC/Doyle's Room is obviously designed for, operated by, and for the total benefit of people who simply do not understand the game. I don't know if Doyle is afraid that Social Security is going to collapse on him or something, because him allowing his name to be placed on such a site is testament to what some people will do for money. The trivia for cash and action points in their welcome lobby is pretty fun, though. It's entirely possible for a good tournament player to generate their entire bank from action point freerolls with points won at trivia. I did.

“Dirty beats” by theking, 18 May 2005

Interface:  4/5   Action:  4/5   Support:  5/5   Fish:  5/5   Bonus:  2/5

Iv'e been playing VC for sometime and before i slag it off, it is a good site! best layout in my opinion, pretty quick, and good tourneys especially MTT. However, i've alraedy seen this complaint on a number of other threads but there are so many bad bad beats! people play rubbish and hit runner runner too much for it to be random. do play, but be very wary of this. Hell of a lot of fish on here to.

“great” by jmontis, 29 Mar 2005

Interface:  5/5   Action:  3/5   Support:  3/5   Fish:  3/5   Bonus:  3/5

Pretty good site. I've played here for 5 months and the best times to play are usually 3-7PM CST, because this is when the casual players get on. There are sharks at every limit, but when there's a loose game, it's fish-o-plenty.

“VCPoker - Victor Chandler Review” by Clarence Turner, 23 Feb 2005

Interface:  3/5   Action:  3/5   Support:  3/5   Fish:  3/5   Bonus:  3/5

Decent poker room, not my favorite. I have accounts at 10 poker rooms and I would rate this one around the middle of the pack overall. I prefer EmpirePoker, PartyPoker, PokerStars, UltimateBet, and Paradise Poker over VCPoker. But VCPoker does have it's redeeming qualities, tournament/SnG action is pretty good with plenty of stakes, interface is ok (but lacking hand histories!), cashing in and out is no problem.

I like this poker room. It is geared for UK and European residents, but US based players can play through a different skin. Nice interface and decent action. Great micro-limit SnG's and MTT's! Good beginner site to play at with the low limit tourneys.
