Tony G Poker.com Overview
is a part of the iPoker network. It is important to note that due to the October 2006 legislation in the United States they currently do NOT accept US customers to play in any real money games.
If you have seen the WPT and watched the tournament circuit, you probably remember a certain bad-mouthed professional player. No, not Mike ‘The Mouth’ Matasow, but rather someone who can be even more intense at the tables: Antanas ‘Tony G’ Guoga. Tony G is a professional poker player from Down Under who has been playing since before he was legal. As more online poker rooms are being launched everyday, Tony G decided to use his name and bad guy reputation to create a player base. So far, it has worked.
At TonyGPoker you will find Limit, Pot-limit, and No-limit Hold’em; Limit and Pot-limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo; 7 Card Stud and 5 Card Stud for all stakes. Most people are playing across all stakes of No-limit Hold’em, but many tables of Omaha and Stud are running as well. Cash games are the bread and butter at Tony G Poker, with an average hovering around 1000 tables open at any time. One of the things that sets Tony G Poker apart from the other online rooms is you will definitely be able to find a game for your bankroll. With an average of 15,000 users constantly connected playing every stake and limit, even a couple of nosebleed tables can be found.
Tony G Poker hosts tournaments as well, and their Sit & Go structure gets a lot of traffic. For as little as $.12 you can play against a table of villains all waiting to give you their chips. Some of the games they offer are: regular, turbo, super turbo, jackpots, winner take all, and WSOP satellites. Of these, the most popular are the regular and turbos at the $20 + $2 buy-in and there are always multiple games running at once. However, don’t worry if you’re a high stakes player because usually there are some $55, some $109, and a few $215s running as well. Their jackpot tournaments vary from buy-in to buy-in, but the basic idea is to win 6 in a row to take down the jackpot (rake is much higher). Also, one other interesting structure was their super turbo, which must be designed for people who want to play 500 tournaments in a day! Blinds go up every 60 seconds, making the tournament last for a maximum of 15 minutes.
TonyG Poker also has a wide variety of scheduled tournaments. Daily guarantees include everything from $500 for a $3.30 tournament to an $11 buy-in with a $35,000 guarantee, with variations in between. Their weekly guaranteed tournaments aren't as high as many other sites but they do offer several large weekly tournaments guaranteed up to $150,000. Occasionally they have very large tournaments worth $1 million or more, with satellites along the way.
While playing real money or cash tournaments, you will earn ‘TonyGPoker Points’. TonyGPoker Points are used to earn bonuses and can also be used to enter some of our FTR tournaments which accept points as the buy-in. Earning more TonyGPoker Points will also help you attain higher VIP levels, which in turn entitle players to more generous promotions, bonuses and privileges. We discuss TonyG Poker Points in detail below.

Tony G Poker.com Software Interface/Usability
’s lobby is very well organized and tables can be filtered or sorted by any means. These filters, which can be enabled or disabled at any time, are one of the best features in their lobby. You can filter out certain stakes, seats, players, or even type of table. They also have a built-in quick search feature, which can quickly take you to any table or tournament, rather than having to do repeated filtered searches to get there.
The table layouts they offer for every limit are 8 and 10-player full ring, 6 max shorthanded, and Heads-up. They have many different options and enhancements you can enable to make life easier when multi-tabling. Some of these include: all-in buttons; normal, mini, or full screen tables; 4 color decks; and warnings. Among these warnings is a pop-up display triggered by an unusual bet (to ensure it isn’t a mis-click) – which is very helpful! Built into the tables are personal avatars, if you want to choose one. Accessed from the options menu, there were 10 choices at last count and the avatars can be toggled on or off.
Play seemed pretty fast compared to other online poker rooms. One negative is that there are some little animations that can distract a player and reduce the time they have to make their decisions. However, you can adjust the game speed in the options menu to suit you. You can enable fast play that will reduce all animation times and speed up the games for you.
While playing at Tony G Poker your hand histories are instantly available at the table. Just click on “history” in the chat window to bring up the viewer. You can also have all hands saved onto your desktop or alternatively have support e-mail them to you.
TonyGPoker Poker Room Action
is action packed! With an average of 15,000 users connected, up to 20,000+ during peak hours, you will have no problem finding a table. Also, you can find games other than No-limit Hold’em in play, which is pretty unusual for online poker rooms today. Sit & Go and MTT traffic isn’t as high a volume as their cash games, but there are definitely enough players that want to donate their chips to you!
Tony G Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
It can be generally assumed that with 15,000 or more players the fish volume will be large. And that is the case at Tony G Poker. Especially in the lower limit cash games, you will find a large amount of people who will call you with anything and make outlandish bluffs. If you exercise patience and good hand selection you can be a big winner at .
TonyGPoker.com Bonus and Promotions
normally offers a 50% initial deposit bonus up to $300. However, through our FTR links the offer is 100% up to $400! In order to take advantage of the full bonus, you must deposit $400 and then play real money games to earn ‘TonyGPoker Points’. Make sure to use the links on this page and enter the TonyGPoker Bonus Code ftrtonyg when creating your account. Here is a detailed description on how TonyGPoker Points are awarded:
VIP levels are based on the average number of TonyG Poker Points you earn per month. All new players start at the Bronze level. You then move up the ladder as follows: Silver - 2000, Gold - 6000, Platinum - 12,500, Titanium - 25,000, Diamond - 60,000 (all of these are points per month average). Each of these levels has new benefits such as: earning points faster, weekly and monthly freerolls, personal VIP service, and cash loyalty bonuses.
Bonuses are then released according to the number of points earned: 600 points = $5. So for the full $300 you would have to earn 36,000 TonyGPoker Points, which in tournament fees is $2000. This bonus is cleared much faster at higher stakes ring games but is fairly slow at lower stakes. It also isn’t the best bonus if you’re a Sit & Go player. However, if you have the time, considering their large traffic volume, it’s not a bad idea to try it out! (Bonuses must be earned within 3 months or they become invalid.)
