is a skin on one of the newer poker networks, Cake Poker. Sportsbook Poker currently accepts US players from all states.

Sportsbook Poker offers limit, pot-limit, and no-limit Hold’em, limit and pot-limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, with stakes ranging from $20 no-limit up to $5000 no-limit. While playing at Sportsbook Poker, I noticed that there were no active tables of Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 card Stud, or 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo. In the lobby it displayed “no games found for this selection.” However, if your main game is low-mid stake Texas Hold’em for ring, you will be able to find a table. Most players are playing in the $.25 - $.50 through $1 - $2 range with numerous tables for those limits.

Sit & Go tournaments were quite popular at Sportsbook Poker. Usually at any given time you can find 100+ running, with most of the games in the $5 - $20 range. The different SnG games offered are heads up, 10 player regular and turbo, 6 max regular and turbo, various shootouts, and bounty’s. The most popular tournament is the $12 + $1 6 max turbo, and the most unique is the $20 +$2 bounty. When you register for this tournament, half of your $20 buying goes to the prize pool and the other half is over your head. If you knock out any of the opponents during the match, you receive $10. Some other rooms also offer bounty tournaments, but usually they are mutli-table and not sit and go.

Mutli-Table tournaments are becoming quite popular at Sportsbook Poker. They are starting to build a larger player base with their daily and weekly guaranteed tournaments. Everyday, they have tournaments with guaranteed prize pools ranging from $1500 ($10 + $1 buyin) up to $8000 ($24 + $2.5 buyin). All of their popular tournaments are no-limit Hold’em, with a few Omaha and limit Hold’em everyday; but only get around 10-25 players. Their weekly Sunday tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $25,000 ($50 + $4 buyin) which has recently grown from being $20,000 guaranteed. Other various tournaments they offer are bounty tournaments (described above), WSOP giveaways, and $500 freerolls throughout the week.

While playing real money ring games or tournaments, you earn Frequent Player Points (FPPs) at Sportsbook Poker. For every $1 in rake, you earn 1 FPP up to 3 FPPs per hand. You also earn 7 FPPs per $1 in tournament fees. While earning FPPs, you earn Gold Chips. The amount of Gold Chips earned depends on the amount of FPPs earned in a certain month. The more points earned, the easier Gold Chips are earned. Currently, Gold Chips can be used to buyin to special freerolls, which have prize pools ranging from $1,200 up to $3,000. You can also buyin to special WSOP Main Event giveaways with Gold Chips. FPPs are also used to track bonuses, which are described in detail below.

Currently, there are only two methods for depositing at ; Visa/Mastercard, or Cash Transfer. I would really like to see more options offered in the near future, as many people are rejected when trying to deposit with credit cards.

Sportsbook Poker Texas Hold'em Table

The lobby at is laid out very nicely. You can select between Ring and Tournament games at the top of the screen. When searching for ring games, you can sort tables by any manner, limit, stake, or type, by highlighting the options listed above it. You can also select Rewards or Cashier to view current promotions and to check your bonus status. The separate tournament lobby is a very nice feature, which also can hide or display any games based on any criteria. One thing that may confuse some people is you must select “Sit ‘n Go” in the tournament lobby to find the SnG tournaments, and “Regular” to find the regularly scheduled MTT’s.

Sportsbook Poker offers 10-max full ring tables, and 6-max shorthanded for every limit. When you first create your account, you chose a nickname and a real life avatar to go with your account. All avatars look like a real picture and they have many to choose from to match your personality, and can be changed at any time. I generally find avatars to be annoying, and you can remove them if you wish in the options menu. A few buttons that were on Sportsbook Poker that aren’t on some other rooms that I liked were some betting options; 1/2 pot, pot, and allin. These really help speed up the action while multi-tabling.

There are not many customizable options to change at the table. Basically the only thing you can change besides your avatar is making a 4 colored deck and displaying bet amounts. Player’s do not have a time bank balance and play seems much faster than compared to other online poker rooms.

Hand histories are instantly available at the table. You can click “last hand” to bring up the viewer. One thing to mention is that the hand histories are not displayed in text; they are in a picture format. I found these hard to read and to follow the action. However, you can have them saved to your computer in text format and can review them that way.

There is some pretty decent action at . It isn’t near the top 10 of most popular poker rooms, but you can definitely find a game for your bankroll. The average number of players connected is usually around 2000, and can be as high as 4000 during peak hours (weekends and evenings). As stated before, 100% of the ring game traffic is Hold’em, and mainly no-limit Hold’em. So if you are looking for an Omaha or Stud game, I would look elsewhere. During peak times, there are almost always 12+ tables for every limit $1 - $2 and below, and a few up to $5 - $10. You can find a couple $10 - $20 and $25 - $50 tables running, but it is rare. The player base is really growing and so is the action!

Support was below average when I had dealt with . I had tried their live chat feature, was disconnected twice, and then was waiting for a representative for over 15 minutes before I closed the window. I had also sent them an e-mail, and it took over 12 hours to receive a response back from them. You can contact them via live chat, e-mail, or phone:

E-mail: cashier@Sportsbook.com
Phone: 1-800-632-6088 (There are also toll free international numbers on their website.)

There seemed to be an average number of fish at Sportsbook Poker. Because this poker room still accepts US players, you would expect it to be swimming full of fish, but it isn’t really the case. I think the few depositing options limits the amount of weak players at their poker room. I would really like to see some other options offered, as this would definitely add to the whales. You will always notice some weak players that can be exploited, so it is definitely worth giving Sportsbook Poker a try with the nice deposit bonus.

“withdrawal options” by MarkColorado, 26 Mar 2008

Interface:  2/5   Action:  2/5   Support:  4/5   Fish:  5/5   Bonus:  4/5

I have had money on here for some time and actually found the customer service quite helful when I was depositing. However, now that they lost their epassporte option my money is kind of sttuck there at the moment. Check fees are $40.00. That seems kind of hefty to me. I hope they come up with some different withdrawal options soon.

Maybe Sportsbook has gotten a little better since the last review. I didn't deal w/ customer service so I'm not sure if that's any good, but the poker tables were really good! And the bonus is fantastic!!! Maybe because this is mainly an online sportsbook site, but it seems that those gamblers hop onto the poker tables to try their luck. Well, they suck and these tables were easy money for me playing low stakes ABC poker.

 “Sportsbook.com - TERRIBLE!!!” by me, 30 May 2007

Interface:  3/5   Action:  3/5   Support:  1/5   Fish:  3/5   Bonus:  3/5

I've used Sportsbook.com for about two months now and I must say the CUSTOMER SERVICE is non-existent. All of it re: The withdrawal process. First they lost their processor, and then they continually promised quick deliveries. I'm still waiting for an early April check to arrive. It's a shame, since the tables are decent. But the online chat thing is a joke. It's even funnier when you call. They can actually tell you "so and so is on the phone, can you call them back in 30 minutes?" . Yeah - like I have nothing better to do AND - they won't be on the phone then. Supervisors as they call them do nothing more than point fingers and tantalize you with "compensation" for your delay. Well - my MARCH check that I received in SEVEN WEEKS, was not compensated. Apparently, that's not a long enough wait. They really don't care about things. The checks finally arrived (two of them), still waiting on the third. Playing there with all my gold coins / gold cards for bonuses...and then will be gone. Finally - their tourneys. 2pm start. Well - 70 people signed up...and then they didn't get started til 3pm. The minimum sign up required was 10 players. So I called "CUSTOMER SERVICE" to ask why the tourney wasn't starting in time. They put me on hold for 5 minutes (which may not seem long, but just try it...over and over..) and they came back and said... "No one from Poker is answering.". I suggest you don't answer their ads. Most people I know from those first two months are no longer there. Don't waste your time
