ParadisePoker Room Review

Paradise Poker.com Overview
has become one of the better poker sites on today’s Internet. Since its founding in 1999 it has had a lot of opportunities to prosper, growing into the very profitable poker site we now know. Already a popular site by 2004 when it was acquired by SportingBet Plc, the move raised its traffic levels to new and impressive heights. Recent U.S. legislation has taken its toll on Paradise Poker, causing them to drop their American players. To combat the sharp decrease in traffic, Paradise recently joined the International Poker Network. This was a wise decision on their part as it continues to offer decent traffic and a wide variety of games for all skill levels.
In addition to Limit, No-limit, and Pot-limit Texas Hold'em, Paradise also offers a large variety of other games, including Limit and Pot-limit Omaha and Hi/Lo, 5 and 7 Card Stud, Soko (Scandinavian Stud) and 5 Card Draw. A wide range of stakes are offered with a decent amount of traffic for each, ensuring a game for almost anyone. You will find most people at the low/mid stake No-limit Hold'em tables, but you’ll also find quite a few high stakes games running. Their other poker games (besides Hold'em) don't get nearly as much traffic but there should be enough for you to find a game.
In addition to cash games Paradise Poker offers some excellent tournaments, the most popular being the “guaranteed” prize pools. In these tournaments, players are guaranteed a certain prize pool regardless of how many entrants there are. Each month there are €2,000,000 worth of guaranteed tournaments that players of all levels are able to enjoy.
Paradise Poker.com Software Interface/Usability
One of the key issues in poker software today is language availability. Poker rooms that fail to establish a multilingual piece of software will ultimately suffer as others are catching on to its importance. ’s website and software is available in 21 different languages, ensuring a wide variety of people the ability to comfortably play on their site. This will ultimately help player traffic. Multi-tabling is important for seasoned players trying to maximize profitability and Paradise Poker has recognized this in developing their software. You can play up to 5 different tables at any given time, easily switching back and forth using a handy ‘tables’ button located in the middle of the game screen.
The tables themselves are kept relatively simple, giving it a clean and attractive look. The blue color scheme fits perfectly with its overall theme. Players are given several options to control their playing environment from changing the color of the deck to the game’s sound effects which further enhance one’s ability to play comfortably. There is minimal animation within the software as well. The manner in which the cards were dealt and swept off the table after a hand seemed quite lifelike. There may be better lobbies around but Paradise Poker’s lobby still gets the job done and is quite decent. It isn’t difficult to find any game of your choice at any stake and that’s really the bottom line. Navigation is a breeze and won’t take much time to get used to at all.
For those who like to spread their funds around, ParadisePoker has some great features with regards to money transfers. Because Paradise is part of SportingBet Plc group, customers can easily interchange their funds between any Sportsbook betting, the Paradise Casino, and SportingBet gaming. Unlike many other poker sites on the IPN network, Paradise Poker does not use Webdollar. Your winnings are promptly paid and there are a wide variety of deposit and withdrawal options for you to choose from.
For the serious player, you will be able to obtain hand history files automatically from their site. These files are compatible with Poker Tracker, so keeping track of your results should not be a concern.
ParadisePoker.com Poker Room Action
The action at is by no means scarce. At any point of the day you’ll find a decent amount of activity. Its traffic can easily reach over 10,000 players during peak hours. After the United States passed the UIGEA in an attempt to bar its citizens from the global online gambling market, Paradise Poker struggled with the loss of a lot of traffic. In an effort to correct the issue, Paradise teamed up with the International Poker Network to boost traffic levels and that did wonders for the site. Had they not joined forces you may not be getting the amount of action that’s available at Paradise Poker today. As with many poker sites, you may have to wait some time to fill a high stakes table but this is not all uncommon. In short, Paradise may not see the level of traffic a few other top sites receive but there’s still plenty of action to be played and it is considered one of the better poker sites around.
Paradise Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
The players at can be very poor. Read this report from one of our contributors:
“When I signed up for my first tourney at ParadisePoker, I accidentally chose limit instead of no-limit. I find no limit more exciting so I didn't give the limit tourney 100% of my attention. I was doing some web work and watching tv as the tournament went on. The players in this Paradise Poker SnG were loose-weak. I won the tournament by being selective about my starting hands but then betting at almost every chance once I got involved.
You can check out screen shots of this sit and go here. Anyway, I took 1st place.
I wish all online players were like the opponents I faced at ParadisePoker. When I had good cards they would call my bets and pay me off. When they had good cards they wouldn't bet and I would get to see all 5 board cards, sometimes for free.”
ParadisePoker.com Bonuses and Promotions
offers an initial deposit bonus of 100% up to €500. So if you deposit €500 they will match your deposit with another €500.
However, as a special offer only available here at FlopTurnRiver, Paradise Poker has increased their standard bonus for anyone who signs up through FTR. Instead of the standard €100 bonus, Paradise will credit your bonus account with €300 on a minimum €15 deposit! If you only use the minimum deposit, this is a 2,000% increase on your initial deposit! In order to qualify for this exclusive bonus you have to make sure to signup through the links on this page and enter the Paradise Poker Bonus Code FTR when making your first deposit. This bonus will be filtered into your real money account the more you play, therefore rewarding your hard work at the tables. Here is how it is earned:
You must earn Frequent Player Points (FPPs) by playing in real money cash games. These FPPs are earned at the rate of 1FPP for every €0.25c raked. The bonus release is €5 for every 100 FPPs earned. So in total you need to earn 6000 FPPs to release the entire €300. This bonus is great in that you don't need a large bankroll to collect a nice bonus, but keep in mind you still have to earn it. Earning it with only a €15 would be very, very hard so I recommend you deposit more than that to play with.
ParadisePoker’s loyalty scheme rewards players in other ways as well. For both single table tournaments and multi-table tournaments, players will be awarded 4 Frequent Player Points for every €1 in tournament fees. FPPs will also be awarded in cash games for every €0.25 raked, as mentioned above. Using these FPPs you can choose to enter into cash tournaments or satellite events for free.
For those who are big on ‘Bad Beat Jackpots’, Paradise Poker offers a great one! The Bad Beat Jackpot started in December 2008 and kicked off with €100,000 added to the prize pool. In order to qualify for the jackpot, you must be playing at a qualifying Bad Beat Jackpot table and lose with a hand of four of a kind, jacks or better. When a jackpot is won, 20% goes to start the new jackpot, 10% goes to the House, and 70% gets paid out to the players who participated in the round. Of that 70%, half is paid out to the player holding the bad beat hand.
Paradise Poker has just completely redone their "Players Club". They have additional ways you can spend your Frequent Player Points including automatic bonuses or buying into tournaments. All you need to do is choose the way you want your FPPs to be used! Once a bonus is credited to your account you just need to start playing at any cash table or in a real money tournament to start earning points towards redeeming it.

Paradise Poker.com Customer and Technical Support
has all the typical support services and goes one beyond in offering a live chat feature. Customer support offering live chat is a very quick and efficient way to get your questions answered with very little added fluff. Testing the live chat support gave us a few minor issues with a particular customer service agent, but we think for the most part it was an isolated issue (though annoying nonetheless).
Paradise Poker customer service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ready to answer any questions you may have. Customer support is also available in all the 21 offered languages of their software and website. They have a FAQ section for immediate answers, but that is still a work in progress and by no means exhaustive. For those pressing issues to which an answer is needed right away, they have live chat assistance.
Overall, Paradise Poker’s customer support is a great service, fast and very helpful.

I have left Paradise poker and will play
there no more. I played there for 18
months but lasted only a week at their
re-vamped site. There were so many
things I didn't like about it. Mostly,
as mentioned elsewhere, I got stuck with
$4.90 in their Sporting bet limbo, which
has a minimum of $5 to transfer. That is
straight out thievery, especially when
one is not told that that is the case
beforehand. Also, I played for
entertainment, not the big bucks, and
was quite happy to pay for it with no
plans on ever reaching the huge amount
required for a cash-out. They took away
the 2c-4c games, which I enjoyed, alas
no more. A colleague also tried and
failed to obtain her largish slot
winnings from them. A picture is forming
here.....Paradise Poker stinks and is
getting stinkier.
I have moved to Pacific Poker and am
quite happy there.....so far. Paradise
Poker gets a thumbs down from me.

I used to love paradise, however, I have
come across a couple of problems
recently.
Since paradise has been taken over by
Sportingbet.com, your money is
automatically transfered from Paradise
to sportingbet and you have to transfer
it back to paradise everytime you log
in. Initially this was not a problem,
however my funding has now dropped below
$5 (no I am not a big fish in the world
of online poker), and there is a minimum
transfer of $5!!! So I now have $4 sat
on a sports betting site that I am not
interested in!!! I have contacted their
customer support twice about this matter
to date, and still have not recieved a
reply from my e-mails. They have live
support (like using msn messenger),
which I contacted only for them to tell
me that they could not help as this is
technical support and to e-mail the
site, which I had done twice already to
no avail. I feel that Paradise are
holding players to ransom in order to
make people invest more and more money
onto their site. I used to love
paradise, but if customer services
cannot reply to e-mails, then it makes
me think that they do not care about
their customers, just how much money
they can squeeze out of my wallet.

Since leaving the US market, Paradise
traffic has dropped dramatically, so
games aren't as plentiful as they once
were. It's still a good room for fish,
but I prefer to play where the big
action is - that seems to be Full Tilt
or PS.

They hit my credit card for three
deposits only added two payments to my
acct. I got my bank to reverse the third
payment. Paradise banned me and were
very rude when I pointed out that they
only deposited twice to my acct. They
then demanded I provide paperwork to
back up what I had said.
All in all they are very poorly managed,
not like other sites I have dealt with.
PartyPoker, Poker4Ever, Absloute all get
9 and 1/2 thumbs up. Paradise get 1 kick
in the back end.

It's fairly easy to use. Looking
through the tournaments can get a bit
annoynig sometimes, trying to find the
type you are looking for. I've signed
up for a couple rebuy's by accident,
which I don't like playing. The Table
interface is decent, although I prefer
to see characters. Tournament action is
fairly weak, but there are always people
playing. During people hours you may
have to wait a bit to get onto a table.
I can't comment on customer support,
luckily haven't had to deal with them
yet.
I have been playing for about a
month, but I play an average of 12 hrs.
a day. I know I have a lot to learn,
but it is too easy to make money on this
site. I have not made any money on
another site, and while I seem to have
gained a bit more ability, I now have
$150 approx. which I made in the last 20
hrs. This is the first I've played .50
blinds and it is not much challenge.
Just make sure to leave a table if you
think it's real tight, or you aren't
doing well. This site is full of
maniacs.
I haven't played much the past few
days, and cleared 200 points with little
problem today. I can't stress the need
to switch tables if you feel the players
are too experienced. good luck, hope my
rambling review is a bit of help

My favorite room. The initial deposit
bonus is great; I earned it very quickly
even at $10 nl. The interface is pretty
good, my lone complaint is that when you
make a note about a player, it does not
indicate so on the player's name. The
games are easier here than at Party
Poker, imo. Finding a good table has
never been an issue.

Hmm,... I get a kick out of the losers
who pan Paradise, alluding to "foul
play" or what have you.
I've played on Paradise for almost over
two years now. Simply the best I've
encountered. Ease of buying in with a
credit card, great support when needed
(which for me has only been for
non-technical matters), good, fast
graphics and loads of games.
I've played on many other sites and
Paradise is far superior. The ones I
haven't played on are because it's
such a royal pain in the posterior (not
to mention expensive what with all the
hidden costs) to actually open an
account that I've given up trying. UB
would be a great example.
Until one comes along that has all that
Paradise has, I don't think I'll
switch again. Tried it a while ago and
had naught but grief.

Paradise Poker is the best site out
there. One of the main attractions for
me is that they offer the widest variety
of games. You can choose from no limit
games everywhere between a $2 max buy-in
to $500. Their limit games range from
$.02/.04 to $40/80. They also have
7-stud, Omaha, blackjack, draw poker,
5-stud, Pineapple, Hi Lo, 1-on-1
tournaments, mini-tourneys, etc. For
the price variability, the ease of the
interface, and poor players abound, PP
is the nuts.

Solid choice to play at, definitely
worth playing to earn the bonus. Easy
$100. Paradise should be included into
your list of poker rooms. I've been a
member for a few years here, and
although I play at half a dozen other
rooms, I often go back to visit Paradise
if I get a reload bonus or something.
I still prefer keeping most of my action
at Party Poker, you can't beat the
player base and number of tables for
cash games.

have come to best place bar none. I know
alot of players that have played here
including myself and we will never put
another penny into it. Its the worst
[believe me] If you dont go all in with
10 2 or 7 4 for ex. and you will win
more times than not,yes its that bad. No
disconnects LOL its bad for it. I really
wonder who actually wrote these
reviews.I kind of expect some foul play
here. I can't wait to tell my player

I have tried bodog, empire, pacific, and
now paradise in that order and have been
very impressed w/ paradise. the cards
are true, they even have there shuffling
reviewed by J.D. Power & Associates,
which gives out quarterly reports
confirming their validity.
The interface is very solid, disconnects
are non-existent. It is full of fish,
even though they are tight fish. just
play looser than usual and you'll be
fine. I can't tell you how many ppl
even at the 50 and 100 nl tables are
playing k4 offsuit in early position!
Its great.
Honestly, this is the first place I have
played at where I am not nervous. I
feel truely comfortable at these tables,
anytime. I strongly urge all to give it
a shot, what've you got to lose?

play mostly 1-2 limit and 10-50 limit

seems to walk with the money. Highly
recommended.

Paradise Poker has many great benefits.
First off, the interface is my favorite
of any site. I like the anonymity of
not having icons and being able to order
drinks/food instead. There are a decent
number of fish in any given room, and
always plenty of tables with an empty
seat or two at any level. Their support
is great, and with a 50% bonus, this
site is hard to beat. Also, one of
beats listed below has been corrected.
The fold/check/bet buttons appear before
your turn now. Highly recommended.

This is one of the better sites I have
played on. The NL Hold em miney
tournaments is where I do most of my
gaming, and you can always find a game
no matter what the buy in. The rake isnt
rediculouse like Party poker, and nither
are the amount of bad beats,(even though
it has its fair share like poker any
where in the world). Theres also a
pretty good mix of good and bad players,
but I do find more fish early in the
mornings pacific standard time. Another
cool thing about the site is that it
offers non traditional and classic games
like Pinapple, 5 stud, and draw poker.
Over all thumbs up to Paradise Poker.

The interface at Paradise is kind of
unique. They have cool features like the
ability to order drinks. One thing I
don't like is the way the
Raise/Call/Fold buttons fail to appear
until it is your turn. The action is
pretty good. It isn't as busy as Party
but then again who is? The Customer
Support seems fine, they claim to answer
emails very quickly, but couldn't find a phone number. The Ease of
Game/Fish is excellent. I ran into some
really bad players there. The bonus is
great too, it comes out fairly quickly
and it is easy to monitor.
